“Home” – for most of us, the sound of
home brings a smile on our faces and warmth
in our hearts. For others, it is something to
look forward to with hope, but for some, it is
something that is never found.
Three sibling groups were able to
experience “home” recently. One sibling group
of two sisters and one brother were reunited
with their parents and were so excited to be
back home.
Unfortunately, a month after they returned
home, their mother was killed in car wreck.
Home for these children will
never be the same so please
keep this family in your
prayers. Our hearts grieve for
these precious children.
One sibling group, two
brothers and one sister, were
able to be reunited with their
mother. Although they were
sad to leave the family who
had cared for them and given
them a sense of stability, love,
and protection, they were so
excited to be able to go home
and be with their mother.
Thanks to the many donations
that have been provided, the family van was not only loaded
with the children’s
belongings in their
new luggage, but
with fresh fruit,
cereal, juice, and
other items to help
the family with
their transition. We
wish them God’s
blessings.

LOCAL AUTHOR HELPS CHILDREN
He’s small, brown, has flat feet and a big mouth. His
name is Personal Toad, and, through an educational children’s
book written by Searcy author Jason A. Marzewski, Personal
Toad will meets his best friend,
Chicken. The book, entitled
Personal Toad Meets His
Forever-Friend, is Marzewski’s
first published book, but he has
strategically developed his story
to help educate children as they
read or hear it.
“Personal Toad and Chicken
stories delight and entertain
young readers, yet are intended
to help children build and
maintain their vocabularies as
they discover the meanings
of the underlined words that
are sprinkled throughout the
narrative, which are then clearly defined in Personal Toad and
Chicken’s Little Brown Dictionary - the ‘book within a book’
- featured at the end of each story,” Marzewski notes.
“In an effort to help needy children and those

who selflessly care for them, a percentage from the sale of
each and every Personal Toad Meets His Forever-Friend
book will be donated to Searcy Children’s Homes, Inc.,”
Marzewski affirms. “I am
humbled that God is allowing me
to assist Taryn and Jeffrey Sheets
and the Searcy Children’s Homes,
Inc., staff in this capacity.”
Marzewski lives in Searcy,
Arkansas with his wife, Tisha,
three dogs, and two cats, and
owns JAM Designs, his free-lance
graphic design and advertising
business.

THE SHARING SHOPPE
For the past few years, the possibility of
Searcy Children’s Homes establishing a thrift
shop has been discussed as part of the vision
for the agency. On Saturday, April 4, 2009,
those discussions became a reality. Thanks
to the hard
work of Phil
and Kandi
Tobin, their
daughters,
and a host
of many
volunteers,
The Sharing Shoppe opened up for its first
day of business. The shop is located at 110
N. Spring Street, just southeast of the court
house. The Sharing Shoppe is open Monday
– Friday from 1:00-5:00 and Saturday from
10:00 – 2:00. Donations of gently used
furniture, home décor, household items, etc.
are accepted during those times. All of the
proceeds benefit Searcy Children’s Homes.
