Little Lights - Corstorphine Primary School

Little Lights
Weather Watch
Primary 1 have been on a lovely walk to St
Margaret’s Park. They are exploring weather
this term and investigating ‘Is the weather
important?’ The grass was wet, the air was cold
and they could hear the leaves rustling as they
walked. The leaves on the ground were all
different kinds of shapes and sizes and they
were all orange, brown, yellow and red in colour.
The ground was also quite slippery because it
had been raining.
Sophie and Aimee thought he was hilarious. In
art all of the pupils drew circus pictures and
coloured them using a choice of paint or felt tip
pen.
They won’t find out the winners till next year.
They can’t wait!
Toy Story
When they got back to class they reported at
BBC Weather Watchers. In their classrooms,
they also have weather stations so they were
able to deliver their own weather forecast.
Eyes on the Prize
This term Primary 2 are learning about toys –
comparing old toys with new toys and wondering
which is best and if the toys they play with now
could be improved upon. They have been
improving their fitness and doing toy themed
dances – jack in the box, toy soldier and teddy
bear are firm favourites. They also got their
parents to complete a questionnaire about toys.
Pupils in primary three and the composite P2/3
class have enjoyed taking part in lots of
competitions this term. They have been on road
safety, art, and a royal mail letter writing
competition with a prize of £800 for the winner!
The art competition is being run by Tesco Bank
and it was launched at Corstorphine last term.
An acrobat from the circus visited the classes.
He put his hat in a stool and got it stuck on his
head. Daniel said ‘I got to hold one of his hats.’
