Money Manager User Guide Never miss another bill payment again! www.ffrees.co.uk How to use the Ffrees Money Manager Jam Jar facility to keep on top of your Finances 1. Jam Jars are online jam jars where you keep money separate to pay essential bills or for special events. It means that you don’t spend it on everyday things with your Ffrees Card, and so don’t get in a pickle and bills don’t mount up 2. You can set up Jam Jars for what purposes you choose and allocate money to each from your Ffrees Account each month or week 3. You can arrange for the bills to be paid direct from the Jam Jar regularly 4. It means that the money left in your Ffrees Account is available to spend on everyday things, and you don’t overspend and leave your bills unpaid 5. You can add extra money to a Jam Jar or transfer money back to your Ffrees Account Step by step guide to getting started Step 1: Log into your Ffrees Account Step 2: Set up your income Log into www.ffrees.co.uk and click ‘Account Management’. You will notice that on the left hand side of your account management screen there are three balances see below. Click on the ‘Manage Jam Jars’ button at the top of the page and you will see two tables. One helps you calculate how much money will be paid into your Ffrees Account each month, the other calculates your bills. Available to spend on Card: The funds you have available to spend. Click the manage button next to your relevant income type, enter the amount you are paid each month and click ‘save’. This will be added up as a total payments into your Ffrees Account each month. Money reserved in Jam Jars: Money you have set aside for bills. Account Balance: Total Account balance including both of the above. Step 3: Set up your outgoings Using the ‘Bills to pay’ table, you can manage each of your outgoings in the same way as your income. For each relevant expenditure, click ‘Manage’, then: 1. Give each Jam Jar a name to remind you what the funds are for (each of these ‘bills to pay’ is a Jam Jar), for example: ‘Council Tax’. 2. Enter the amount you pay each month 3. Choose a priority (1 being the most important) 4. Let us know what date this bill is paid out 5. You can then save and choose how to pay your bill from one of the options below. The bills table will calculate your total outgoings and will set your money aside. You can then see how much money you have left over to spend on top of your bills. We transfer your confirmed Ffrees Savings Points to one of your Jam Jars, once a month Payment Option 1: Standing Order When you have finished setting up your outgoings for any of your Jam Jars, click ‘Set up a standing order’. Fill out the necessary details and click ‘Setup Standing Order’ and once you have checked the details click ‘Confirm’. Payment Option 2: Pay by card 1. Click ‘manage’ on the bill entry you want to pay by card or cash. 2. Click ‘Pay By Card‘ 3. Select how frequently funds are to be released under ‘Release occurs’. This can be either weekly or monthly. 4. If monthly, select the date on each month you wish to make the payment. 5. If weekly, select the day of the week and then the amount. 6. When the funds are released pay the bill using your Ffrees Card or withdraw cash from an ATM and pay with money. What if you need to release funds from a Jam Jar If you need access to funds you have stored in a Jam Jar, you can release them back into your Ffrees Account by doing the following: 1. Click on the amount in the ‘Money reserved in Jam Jars’ section. This is the orange figure as seen in the example on the right. 2. On the next screen, choose which Jam Jar you no longer require funds to be reserved for and click ‘Withdraw Money’ 3. You can then type in the amount of money you would like to withdraw from this Jam Jar to go into your Ffrees Account. 4. Click ‘Save’ and the funds will leave the Jam Jar and go into your Ffrees Current Account, you are then free to spend this money with your Ffrees Card or withdraw from an ATM.
