Picked up as a stray by Animal Control is this Wirehaired Fox
Terrier. Sidney is 18 months old and has been neutered. Unfortu
nately, there are many purebred stray dogs who are never reclaimed by their owners. Sidney and other pets in need of a

Goldie is an 8-month-old Female Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab
mix puppy. Goldie came to Save-A-Life after a caller threatened
to put a bullet in Goidie's brain if the group didn't come and take
her. Goldie is spayed, free of heartworms - and sweet, loving
and playful. She needs obedience training. She is looking for an
inside/outside home. Save-A-Life pets are shown every second
and fourth Saturday of the month at Forest Hills Park (Berkshire

The Savannah
Symphony's
Young People's Concerts educated
and entertained a record number of
public and private school students in
late-February.
"About 10,000 students from the
Coastal Empire attended the five
concerts on Feb. 23 and 24 at the
Johnny Mercer Theatre, 1,100 students more than the previous record
attendance of 8,900. The concerts,
sponsored by the Chatham County
Board fo Education and Piggly
Wiggly, featured Assistant Conductor John Morris Russell in a 45 minute performance of music from the

Wild West."
The concerts included a singalong with cowboy balladeer Jamie
Keenan and the Feb. 23 concerts featured performances by the Savannah Symphony Civic Orchestra. The
Feb. 23 afternoon concert also featured a special guest appearance by
Mr. Pig, the Piggly Wiggly mascot.
The 1994-95 Young People's concerts will be performed on Oct. 19
and 20,1994 and Feb. 22 and 23,1995.
