Paris is quite literally the center of France. With over one sixth of the French population
living in the Paris region, the city teems with life.
The city also condenses most of France’s aeronautics’ sector, with companies such as
Dassault, Safran, Clean Sky, MBDA and many others all situated in the Paris region. The
world’s most prestigious universities such as Polytechnique or la Sorbonne make Paris one of
the largest student cities in the world.
Going out
Paris offers numerous ideas for things to do, day and night: Exhibitions, shopping, music, etc.
Here are our suggestions…
Monuments and museums
Eiffel Tower
A not-to-be-missed monument and symbol of the capital, the Eiffel Tower stands 324 m tall,
and weighs 10,100 tons. Created in 2 years, 2 months and 5 days, it was built for the Exposition
Universelle of 1889.
You can go up the Eiffel Tower by the stairs or by lift. On the completely refurbished 1st floor,
there are shops; on the 2nd, treat yourself to a gastronomic meal at the famous Jules Verne
restaurant, 125 meters above ground. Finally on the 3rd floor you are at cloud level and have an
exceptional 360° view!

Louvre
Every trip to the capital deserves a visit to the Louvre to discover the wealth of treasures it
contains. The museum houses western works of art dating from the Middle Ages to 1848, in
addition to collections of ancient oriental, Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman civilizations,
as well as graphic and Islamic arts. From room to room, the former royal palace reveals its
masterpieces to the public: the Mona Lisa, The Raft of the Medusa, the Venus de Milo, and The
Winged Victory of Samothrace.
Arc de Triomphe
Situated at the Place de l’Etoile, overlooking the Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe is the
biggest arch in the world. It was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to celebrate his victory at
Austerlitz.
Bars and restaurants
Le Syphax
One of the cheapest bars in Paris, can be found in the heart of the 9th arrondissement. With
the cost of a pint of beer at 3 euros, the place is always packed. The icing on the cake: A long
‘happy hour’, which lasts from 4pm to 1.30am in the morning.
Rue Mouffetard

EUROAVIA Paris
Busy rue Mouffetard, one of the French capital's oldest streets, gently guides you down a slope
of Montagne Sainte Geneviève, one of seven hills surrounding the heart of Paris; the street is
famous for its quaint and typically French atmosphere. Countless restaurants and cafes jostle
for room along with the butcher shops, greengrocers, fishmongers, cheese shops and bakeries
all along this long (650 m) yet narrow (7 m) paved way. Very popular with students, the
Mouffetard area is even busier at night, especially on Place de la Contrescarpe where it would
be sacrilege not to stop for coffee at an outdoor table, overlooking the fountain!
Cour du faubourg
The Cour du faubourg, just a few steps from the Bastille, is one of the cheapest restaurants in
Paris. The cooking is simple and copious and the prices unbeatable: open lunchtime only, this
(social reinsertion) restaurant has a menu at €9.50.
Pho Bahn Cuon
If you have a taste for something different, you’ll find cuisine with exotic flavours at affordable
prices. For the best in Asian cooking at inexpensive prices, head over to the Chinese district in
the 13th arrondissement.
