Your water`s 160-mile long journey is now being made seismic

Your water’s 160-mile long
journey is now being made
seismic-safe for the future.
Palo Alto’s water supply is a precious resource. Over the next 5
years, a $4.6 billion Water System Improvement Program is being
undertaken by our supplier, the San Francisco Public Utilities
Commission. The project will help ensure the quality and reliability
of our community’s water for generations to come. Although
expensive, this project is supported by all the utilities in the region
supplied by the SFPUC. Palo Alto’s share of that cost is the main
factor driving water rate increases coming this Fall.
Your previous conservation efforts
have paid off.
Customers who use water more efficiently have been playing it smart. Their bills have been
lower all along and even with future rate increases those customers will keep saving money.
