Vaughan Kernan
Since joining the Trojans, Ethan McInnes has proven he
is a very worthy candidate for any selection in a Country
Team. Week in, week out Ethan finds a way forward on
the rugby field and is a respected senior member of the

U19s Draw update
Trojan playing group. Ethan was, last weekend, selected
in the Country Squad and he deserves all the accolades
that are currently before him.
Ethan has previously played First Grade for Warringah in
Sydney. He additionally helps around the Club by
coaching our Junior side Under 11s Blue team. Ethan is
just an all round first class Trojan.
Congratulate Ethan when you see him for this great
accomplishment.
Vaughan Kernan has grown up on the coast and is the
Trojan Club’s latest Country Representative in the Colts
Division. Vaughan played a great tournament last
weekend and was unlucky not to receive Man of the
Series as advised by the Central Coast
Manager. Vaughan developed his rugby through the
Trojans and Central Coast Grammar School. Vaughan’s
father, Peter, is one of the sponsors of the Trojans. His
selection in Country is a great honour and one that
Vaughan can take forward with his career.

HOME GAME THIS WEEK TERRIGAL VS GOSFORD
Trojans will play Gosford at The Haven this weekend on
Saturday 6 May.
Gosford will be a tough match, as always, so our teams
will be preparing well for this next home game.
Gosford were beaten last weekend and will come out hard
as they know that Terrigal are the benchmark in the
Central Coast Competition. Don’t expect it to go all our
way at The Haven, however, I am sure the Trojans are
ready to win this match and retain the Challenge Shield.

Gosford. Larry Thomson of
Gosford originated this trophy, so
he will be very keen to take it
home to the Gosford trophy
cabinet. The winner at a home
match retains the Shield.

NSW COUNTRY CHAMPIONS
Three Terrigal Representatives have tasted victory last
weekend in the final of the Colts NSW Country
Championships against the red hot favourites,
Newcastle/Hunter. Our Central Coast Under 19s won 148 and were named the NSW Country Champions for
2017. Terrigal were represented by Vaughan Kernan

(10), Matthew Polmear (4) and Joel Small (2) who were
all a big part of the squad and the matches.
The Central Coast Managers advised the team played
above their weight in a fantastic result for Central Coast
and Trojan Rugby.
The boys will be introduced to our supporters at half time
this weekend at our Gosford match where they will be
recognised for these efforts.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MATTHEW
POLMEAR
One of our Trojans, Matthew Polmear recently toured
South Africa with the NSW Combined High Schools
side. It was a great experience for Matthew to play rugby

overseas against very strong South African sides.
Matthew also formed part of the Colts team who went on
and won the U19s NSW Country Championship last
weekend. Matthew is shaping up to have a big rugby
career in front of him.
UNDER 9s
The Under 9s remain undefeated under the guidance of
Paul Ryan. The kids are having great fun on the rugby
field with more improvement and technique coming out
every week. Last weekend was a tough tussle against the
Avoca side, keep on enjoying your rugby boys!
