TCS Class News
Pre3 Classes
Jingle bells, winter songs, scarf dancing, and lots of
glitter have been keeping our Pre3 friends busy this
time of year! Music time is one of our favorites and
we love participating. Our party was a blast too! It
always seems that we return from winter break with
a whole new
perspective, i.e.,
much more grown
up and capable of
so many new
things-buckle up!
MWF Class
Our class has been
busy trimming the
trees, tracing trees and stars, exploring the
Nutcracker collection and making tickets to
attend the ballet. You may have found those
envelopes with stamped Nutcracker tickets in the
take home box! Our Montessori skills were honed
with bread cutting/serving, working on our recipes,
and helping out at home.
M-F Class
Our class has been hard at
work developing our core
strength, balance, and
following directions. We spent
time running through an
obstacle course in the
carpeted hall ("push the bear in
the chair, walk the balance beam,
then run around the cone..."). It’s
nice to get some movement in
on these rainy days. We also
scoured catalogues, selected
items, and wrapped gifts for
those we love. Snowflakes
came into play after our TCS
snow-day so we practiced
drawing snowflakes after
seeing what one looks like
under a microscope!
PreK Class
In addition to our classroom learning (mastering the
number board and the spindle box, writing our
families names, dreidel spinning, and lots of building)
we attended a puppet show, built graham cracker
houses, and had a holiday party! Phew, we made it.
Special thanks to the Thistle Theatre, our puppet
show experience was a hit. We saw The
Gingerbread Boy!!! All our PreKs were perfect
theater audience members. This is great practice for
kindergarten field trips!
What super builders we have. Their Graham
Cracker Houses (which were more like castles)
had arbors, walkways, gardens, motes, glass
windows, towers all built with layers and layers of
candy:) We also named and told the story of our
house before they went on the long journey home.
Party day gave us time to show our flower cutting/
arranging skills, bracelet making, and spreading and
sprinkling work with FROSTING OUR OWN
COOKIES.
Oodles to look forward to in 2017 - telling time, another
puppet show, and our PreK Showcase of Skills.
Happy New Year!!!
***WINTER SNOW or STORM ALERT***
Winter is upon us and that may mean the possibility of school closures.
TCS follows the Seattle Public Schools Snow and Storm Bulletins. If it is
announced that SPS are closed, TCS will be closed as well. If SPS are having
a late start, our morning classes will be cancelled, but our afternoon PreK
class will meet as usual.
