HOW TO GAIN CUSTOMER
FEEDBACK USING FACEBOOK
Do you use social media campaigns to engage with your customers? If you haven’t tried this yet,
your next trip to Market may be a great excuse!
This guide will provide a few simple steps you can take to get your Facebook fans to work and gain
the feedback you need to buy products your customers want.
#1: PLAN YOUR CAMPAIGN
The first step in building a successful social media campaign is to have a clear goal. If your campaign is
aimed at collecting customer feedback, make sure you focus on that. Incentives are a great way to get your
fans to act on the task you give them so take a moment to think about how you will reward them for their
participation.
#2: THINK OPTIMAL RESULTS
Besides gaining feedback, you’ll want your campaign to go as viral as possible and get shared. Photos and
video have proven to be those updates no one misses on their Facebook timelines and home feeds. One
idea is for you to encourage your fans to post photos or items they’d like to see at the store, whether it’s
something they saw in a magazine, their friend’s house, or even your competitors’ stores!
#3: GET SHARES AND LIKES
Shares and likes are the best way to reach more eyeballs. Encourage your fans to like the items submitted
by others that they’d also like to see at your store. You can also give them an extra incentive to share your
contest with their local friends.
#1: REWARD THE RIGHT ACTIONS
If you’re looking for feedback on product, our recommendation is that you don’t reward the amount of likes
on a suggestion because it may skew your results. Your goal in that case is to get objective
recommendations from your customers. Incentives, then, should reward participation so think about offering
something like a $50 gift certificate to everyone who shares a photo or the contest post. Alternatively, you
could have a drawing among all those who participate for a bigger prize.
#5: GET THE WORD OUT
Seventy-five percent of the success of a social media campaign lies in promotion. You will need to start with
the right post on your page, explaining the campaign, what you’re looking for, and what your fans will get in
exchange. Make sure to encourage your fans to share that post and schedule reminders. You may also
want to consider sending an email to your clients or posting posters around your store explaining the terms
of the campaign. You may even get a few more followers along the way!
