Kids of all ages enjoy the new interactive Journey West Children’s Gallery, where they can easily imagine themselves reliving the history of the settlers who journeyed west. Live Theatre, Music, Dance & Arts – Symphony of the Hills, Playhouse 2000, Hill Country Arts Foundation, and the Kerrville Performing Arts Society all provide entertaining year-round concerts and productions. F estivals Kerrville Folk Festival – Eighteen great days of musical events, starting the Thursday before Memorial Day at the outdoor theatre at Quiet Valley Ranch. Kerr County Fair – The annual Kerr County Fair provides the residents of Kerr County and adjacent counties an opportunity to exhibit their finished works and recognizes their achievements. Livestock exhibits, food & drink, music, dancing, team roping and the exciting bull and barrel contest. Chili and barbeque cook-offs (CASI & CTBA sanctioned), petting zoo and pony rides. The Kerrville Senior Games - An Olympic-style event for ages 50+, held annually in the spring. Athletic, recreational and social events including swimming, biking, basketball, bowling, golf, bridge and domino tournaments, dancing, shooting and more. A three-day condensed version of the internationally famous 18-day Folk Festival. Wine-tasting, crafts, food services and camping are available. See Folk Festival above. Texas Heritage Living History Day – Interactive educational program that teaches the varied cultures of Texas through music and story telling. Held each fall on the campus of Schreiner University. The Easter Run Classic, an annual two mile walk and 5k run is held at Kerrville-Schreiner Park, 2385 Bandera Hwy. (830/257-7300). Easter Hill Country Bicycle Tour – Enjoy three days of fully supported riding including a full century on Saturday through some of the best scenery in Texas. Stonehenge II – A very unusual structure built to replicate the original Stonehenge in England. The scale replica of Stonehenge shares the land with Easter Island type statues.
