STUDENT SCHOLARS WANTED
■ The Arkansas Times is searching for 20 outstanding high
school students to be named to our 2017 Academic All-Star
Team. Each year since 1995, we have honored exceptional
seniors, sharing their educational accomplishments and successes outside of school. This recognition program is our way of
spreading good news about today’s high school students.
SIGN UP YOUR STUDENTS
■ It takes you to name a student to the A-Team. Any high school
senior is eligible. Good grades and top-notch test scores aren’t
enough. We are looking for compelling stories about youths who
have achieved extraordinary success in and outside the classroom.
SEND IN NOMINATION FORMS
■ We need your help to choose the most qualified members
for the A-Team. The Times is asking high school principals and
counselors to nominate ONE male and ONE female from each
Arkansas high school. Students who attend home schools as well
as private school students may participate. Nomination forms
are being distributed statewide, and photocopies of the form and
faxed copies are permissible. Download nomination forms at

Please submit no more than ONE male and ONE female
from each high school.
SELECTING THE TEAM
■ The A-Team will be selected by education experts and Times
staff. The Times will feature the team of 10 females and 10
males, plus finalists and nominees in an April issue. The team
will be honored with a reception and cash scholarship awards.
Last year’s winners were honored with $250 each and a plaque.
