Date Of Birth: September 28, 1990
Hometown: Fresno, CA
HS: Hoover (Fresno, CA)
College: California
NFL Experience: 5th year
Draft Pick: D2a-12 (46th overall)
by Philadelphia
There’s such a drive there with him.
“You
either have it or you don’t. He
does, and the potential is unlimited
for him.
”
- Former Eagles Linebacker DeMeco Ryans
A second-round draft choice of the Eagles in 2012,
Mychal Kendricks was inserted as a starter on
the Eagles defense as a rookie. Since then, he has
remained a contributor on the defensive unit, which
ultimately led to a four-year extension in 2015 that
will keep him in Philly through the 2019 season. Prior
to entering the NFL, he was named the 2011 Pac-12
Defensive Player of the Year at Cal.
BIRDSEED
• Mychal’s father, Marvin, was on the Eagles training
camp roster in 1972 after playing college football
at UCLA, where he led the Bruins in rushing twice
in 1970 and 1971. Said Mychal: “He was so happy
the day I got drafted here because the Eagles were
his team. I remember being so excited, but he may
have even been more excited. He followed them all
the time when I was growing up. It was a dream
come true for the both of us.”
• Began playing football in the 8th grade for the
Wawona Wildcats as a safety and fullback

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
• Is one of only three Eagles since 1982 to post at
least four sacks and three interceptions in a single
season, recording four sacks and three picks in
2013. Joined Williams Thomas (1996) and Seth
Joyner (1991 and ‘92) as the only other Eagles to
accomplish the feat
• In 2013, he and DeMeco Ryans became the first pair
of linebackers in Eagles history to post 4+ sacks
and 2+ interceptions in the same season
• Most underrated attribute of playing linebacker:
“You need to be a little crazy. All good linebackers either have a few screws loose or a few screws
wound too tight.”

RENAISSANCE MAN
While he was always known for his athletic talents on the
field growing up, Kendricks’ passion off the field is in the fine
arts. Kendricks attended Bullard Talent, a private school that
specializes in the fine arts from kindergarten through 8th
grade. While there, Kendricks acted in plays such as Robin
Hood, Aladdin and The Lion King. He also learned to dance in
hip-hop, urban, tap and jazz styles. Said Kendricks: “I really
have an appreciation for all kinds of art and going there really
instilled that in me at a young age. I would go there during the
day and then play sports for other schools. I remember you’d
have to win a raffle to get your kids in, so my mom did that for
me and I got lucky.”
