The Gutenberg Research Group headed by Prof. Jonathan Kipnis within the FZI, FTN and the Department of Neurology, at the
University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU), is offering a Post-Doctoral Researcher position in
Experimental Neuroimmunology.
Jonathan Kipnis, a newly appointed Gutenberg Fellow of the JGU, will hold this post in addition to his position as Director of the
Center for Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG), University of Virginia. He is establishing a laboratory in Mainz to conduct cutting-edge
research on neuro-immune interactions in neurodegenerative, mental, cognitive and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Your tasks:
The research project will focus on understanding the role of neuro-immune crosstalk at the CNS boundaries and the outcome of such
interaction on regulating CNS homeostasis, cognitive tasks, or pathology. For more information regarding the research being

Your profile:




PhD in a relevant area
At least one first-authored manuscript in a top-tier journal
Expertise in molecular neuroscience, immunology, molecular cell biology, or bioinformatics
Excellent English language skills
