Coming in Lent: Arise Season Two
Change our Hearts
ARISE Together in Christ is a parish-centered process of
spiritual renewal and evangelization that enables people to deepen their faith, develop a closer relationship
with Christ, grow in community, and reach out in service to others. It emphasizes people living in good relationship with one another, as they make concrete applications of the gospel to their life situations.
ARISE Together in Christ offers a unique opportunity for each of us, individually, and
as a parish community, to begin a faith journey that can deepen our relationship
with God and one another.
Lent 2017/Season Two: Change Our Hearts begins Sunday, February 26 and continues through Lent. Season Two reflects on the central call of Ash Wednesday to conversion, both as a “turning away from…” and as a “turning toward…." Over the next
four sessions we explore the meaning of lifelong conversion as radical change. We
are guided through these sessions by the great symbolic themes of the Lenten liturgy: being transfigured; from thirst to water; from darkness to light; from Old Covenant written on stone to new Covenant written on our hearts. Our concluding session, in the week before Passion Sunday, we are led into Holy Week with Christ, a
week crowned by celebrating the Easter Vigil.
There will be a training/morning of reflection on Saturday February 11 in Cogswell
Hall beginning at 9:45 a.m. for all Arise small group leaders. New leaders as well as
new participants are always welcomed!
If you are interested in beginning Arise this season, please register on our parish
website: http://www.saintlaw.org/sign-up-for-season-two-of-arise/ or stop by the
Arise table which will be in the narthex next weekend, February 11 and 12.
Welcome Father Bonnet
Father Jean Ronel Bonnet, pastor of St. Thomas d’Aquin, our sister parish in
Thomassique Haiti, will be visiting us and concelebrating at all Masses this Weekend.
Please extend a warm St. Lawrence welcome to him! All are welcome to join us on
Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Cogswell Hall for a parish reception with Father
Bonnet.
Pope Francis’ February
Prayer Intention
Welcome the needy. That all those who
are afflicted, especially the poor, refugees, and marginalized, may find welcome and comfort in our communities.

Catholic School Families
Parish Verification Forms now being used by all archdiocesan
Catholic Schools for admissions, and then again every year for
tuition purposes, describe “active” Catholics as: (1) registered
in the parish; (2) participating regularly at Mass on Sundays
and Holy Days; (3) have a parish Time & Talent commitment
on file for the current year and are participating in at least
one parish ministry; and (4) are pledged and contributing to
the current year’s Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Those who do
not meet these criteria are “registered but not active” and
are not eligible for discounted tuition. Please do the right
thing now so that Fr. John is able to check “active” when your
verification form crosses his desk.

guían a través de estas sesiones: ser transfigurado; de estar sediento al agua; de la oscuridad a la luz;
