Oldcastle Precast ‐ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For a second time, Oldcastle Precast Cyclists Ride to Increase Awareness and Raise Funds for
Multiple Sclerosis
LITTLETON, Colo. (October 2016) – For the second year in a row, Oldcastle Precast – Topeka and the National Accounts
& Marketing team in Littleton supported BIKE MS, by participating in this years’ BIKE MS Kansas City Ride. The objective
was to help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change, and help people with MS live their lives.
Biking a combined 537+ miles, the team was comprised of Dan Dodson, Maran Sprouse, Joe Malato, James McFarren, Gordon Brown, Tamara Graham, Sarah Sutherland, Jack Sykes, Sophia Flood, John Haggstrom, and Bob Kramer. Local support for the group was provided by JP Connolly and Dave Fast from the Topeka facility. This year Oldcastle Precast adopted the Kiewit team and are looking forward to having a huge team next year recruiting
Oldcastle, Burns & McDonnel, Black & Veatch, and Kiewit riders.
As a result, the total event raised over 800K. Team Oldcastle Precast successfully raised
just under $10K through Oldcastle employees, friends, families, and vendors. The team
would like to thank all contributors that helped support such a worthy cause. Funds
raised will aid in assisting support programs, services, and research that makes a huge
difference to the people who must fight MS every day of their lives.
“I support Bike MS because MS needs a cure and Bike MS is a great way for me to be a
part of the movement and mission. The sore legs I had that weekend will not even
compare to the 2.5 million people living with MS every day,” said Bob Kramer. “I am
especially proud of the contribution Oldcastle Precast was able to make to such a worthy
cause and look forward to an even a bigger event next year! “
Tamara Graham remarked, “I am really excited about the level of participation that we received this year; from the number of new team riders, to all the volunteer charity hours we received from the Topeka facility.
