POETRY(Unseen poems) - Questions will focus on:
- reading to infer, interpret and deduce details from the unseen poems
- identifying and describing key points, themes, poet’s purpose and viewpoints
- commenting on the form and structure and the poet’s use of language along with identifying and
explaining poetic features such as repetition, metaphor, simile, personification, use of contrast,
rhyme and rhythm
- Exploring similarities and differences in poems with reference to themes, form and
structure including other features such as the use of figurative language, choice of words,
imagery, writer’s style, etc. with relevant textual details
- commenting on the form and structure and the poet’s use of language expressing personal
response
