Make adifference. - National University Cancer Institute, Singapore

Volunteer.
Make a
difference.
Helping in more ways than one
As a volunteer, you will be glad to know that you
are partnering with an organisation that renders
strong support to patients in various ways. For
example, opportunities exist for individuals and
corporate donors to give to the NCIS endowment
fund. Donations provide financial support for needy
patients and generate funding for research and
continued education for healthcare professionals.
NCIS also organises cancer awareness months
that aim to instill knowledge about cancer through
public education. There are various activities that
may be of interest to you. In addition, you can help
out at our support group parties where survivors and
healthcare professionals interact to share stories and
new discoveries.

Our Unwavering Commitment
Making a Difference at NCIS
The National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS)
aims to be a leading, comprehensive centre dedicated to
the prevention, management and cure of cancer.
To date, NCIS has conducted numerous educational and
outreach programmes to create public awareness of
cancer and how to prevent it. Yet, the fight against cancer
is only complete with the participation of volunteers who
dedicate their time and skills to help patients on their long,
strenuous journey to recovery.
It does this by focusing on four important areas:
• Providing outstanding patient care
• Advancing research discoveries from the laboratory
into better treatments
• Training healthcare professionals and scientists
• Educating the public
With the patient being the focus of all our programmes,
sound medical knowledge and advanced technology
are combined with the human touch of specialist doctors,
nurses and other healthcare professionals in innovative
ways to fight cancer together.
Volunteers form an indispensable part of the NCIS family
and we are always on the lookout for people who wish to
connect with both patients and survivors. We welcome
volunteers from all walks of life who have something to
share. Just a few hours of your time could make a big
difference at NCIS.
Why Volunteer?
