HOUSE RULES AND GENERAL MANNERS The door opens ten minutes before classes start. Make sure you arrive in time for the lesson, so the lesson can begin quietly. Are you unable to come, or do you suspect that you will be a little late? Please give notice of this as soon as possible. There is a mutual respect between the teacher and the students, as well as between the students themselves. During the yoga classes there will be made no distinction in age, flexibility, ethnicity, gender, experience, personality, faith, etc. Anyone can be who he or she is. We try to exclude prejudices and judgements as much as possible. Do you have questions? You can ask them in class of course. Do you have many questions? Please put them off until after class. Maybe your questions will be answered in class already. If not, the teacher will have time after class to answer your questions. Do you feel the need to talk? Please do this quietly. During the classes you will observe the general rules of hygiene. In case you borrow a yoga mat from Flow-Yoga, please bring a big towel every lesson, to put over the mat. Also bring your own blanket for the final relaxation. If possible, bring your own mat and / or pillow with you. With your own mat, it is up to you whether you want to use a towel or not. Please do not walk on other people’s mats. In the yoga studio no shoes are worn. As we often practice yoga without socks, you will need to keep your feet clean. During the lesson, chewing gum, eating candy or other food is not allowed. Wearing watches or jewellery during the lesson is not recommended. Keep the area around your mat free of glasses, jewellery etc. This is for your own safety, as well as of your teacher. Bags preferably remain in the corridor. For glasses, jewellery and other valuable goods there’s a designated place within the yoga room. Make sure your cell phone is off or on silent. Any possible calls should be made out of earshot of others. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clean clothing in which you can move properly. Bring a vest and socks for the final relaxation. With Yin Yoga, or during the final relaxation, you can get cold. Make sure you have warm clothes on, or with you. Please avoid wearing too much perfume. If necessary, bring a small towel with you to class in case you perspire a lot. In the yoga school any necessary tools, such as blocks and pillows, are available. Contacting the teacher or requesting information is preferably done in person and, if necessary, by email.
