Essential Criteria to be ranked “Green” or active: 1. There must be a teacher contact or a community partner who works closely with the school, specifically relating to SADD. Although the programme is youth driven the past has shown us that for it to succeed and be sustainable having an adult for the students to consult is essential. 2. There must be a SADD Committee operating within the school. This is to eliminate situations where there is one student involved in SADD with no support and no planning for the future of the programme within the school. The exception to this is if SADD falls under the operation of another student led committee i.e. the Health Committee. 3. Students have been responsive in communication with SADD staff. This shouldn’t be an onerous task, it is simply responding to emails or online messages when requested, and letting the SADD team know of any activity happening at the school. If students don’t respond to communication it can be assumed they are no longer running the programme. 4. Each term there must be at least one activity undertaken within the school, or as a part of a regional campaign. This activity must be reported on to the SADD team. Reporting is simple, a message to a SADD staff member advising of the activity over Facebook or email will suffice. Where possible a photo can be provided. 5. Student(s) from this school have attended a workshop / regional meeting / one-on-one school meeting or Skype meeting during the term. Our team will be offering workshops to as many regions nationally as possible, regardless of their active status. If a workshop is not offered near you, or you are unavailable to attend one that is offered, you can request another meeting. Please note, it may only be possible to do this via an online meeting such as Skype. The exception to this would be a school that is demonstrating a very active SADD calendar of events for the term and does not require support from the SADD delivery team.
