take place in small groups of a maximum of 8 students and are given by native
teachers with a university degree and experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign

The Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza is located
in Ibiza town which is the capital of the
island of Ibiza. We also run a summer
school each year during the month of
august in lovely San Antonio on Ibiza’s
west coast.
The central location allows our students to experience the Mediterranean life in Ibiza
very closely and to start the day with an immersion in Spanish culture: the typical Spanish
breakfast - café con leche with sweet pastry or the great tomato toast - in one of the many
pleasant bars and cafés surrounding the school.
The bus station in order to get to the beaches of the island is right across the street. The
neighbouring hidden squares and small alleys of the historic part of the city - Dalt Vila as well as the historic port host many of the Ibicencan restaurants. These offer the rich
traditional cuisine on different price levels: from very cheap to very expensive. But always
worth the money.
Also when not in class or during a walk through the city all students are welcome to stop by at
the Instituto and have a coffee and perhaps check their e-mail or meet other students.
Our summer school in San Antonio is conveniently located near the vibrant town centre, the
bay and the impressively beautiful beaches around this former fisherman’s village.

The island
Ibiza is the closest Balearic Island to Spain’s mainland. It is situated approximately 45 mls
(72 km) in front of Denia and consists of approximately 355 square miles (571 km) of clear
sedimentary rock. The 125 mls (201 km) of coastline offer a wonderful holiday for all budgets.
The island’s capital - Ibiza Town - was declared a Human Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The island itself is part of the “Islas Pitiusas (the pine islands)“, the two neighbouring islands
of Ibiza and Formentera.
Beaches, villages, shopping, night life... you have it all here, in Ibiza. During the summer
months, from April to October, you will experience a very Mediterranean atmosphere; however,
during winter months, from November to March, you can enjoy the mild climate of this serene
sunny environment.
If you like partying, you are sure to have a wonderful time. Ibiza is full of world-famous clubs.
Ibiza is a special island able to offer something different to each visitor type allowing you to
make Spanish speaking friends and meet people from all over the world. Enjoy the cultural

During your stay, we advise you to get information on the great variety offered either in a travel

Spanish classes take place Monday through Friday both during the
morning or the afternoon. You will have selected morning or afternoon
classes in Ibiza Town or in San Antonio during your booking. All courses
consist of 45-minute lessons. You will have two sessions carried out by two
teachers. The first session of two lessons is carried out by one teacher and
the second session, after the 15-minute break, by the other teacher. These
two teachers will accompany you the whole week.
In order to confirm your morning or afternoon schedule and to take into
account your preferences, we will need, in advance, a placement test
for those students with previous knowledge of the Spanish language.

download it or ask for it to be sent to you.

You will always be in small groups with a maximum of 8 students per
class. This will allow you to enjoy a good pace of learning and to have
the opportunity to bring up your questions, just as your fellow class mates
will. To keep track of your development, each Thursday you will take
a progression test on the matter studied throughout the week. Independently
from the type of course you wish to take, you will always practice the four
basic aspects of the language: speaking, listening, writing and reading.

Intensive + Salsa. Your Spanish intensive course in Ibiza combined
with Salsa lessons. This is to learn Spanish and have fun with people
from Ibiza! It consists of your intensive course of your choice plus
5 Salsa lessons per week, which take place in the evening. We guarantee
that you will find out everything about the Ibiza Salsa scene to dance
through the whole weekend.
Ibiza hosts great Salsa dance clubs as well as the possibility to dance
at Salsa events on the beach. These classes are the perfect place to mix
with the Ibicencos!

Afternoon classes. During the summer months from
April to October we offer fix starting dates for afternoon
courses in Ibiza Town and in San Antonio. These can be booked
in advance and take place at the beginning of the summer
season, by the end of May and at the peak of the summer
season in August and by the end of the summer season, the
end of September. Our complete course offer can be chosen
with an afternoon schedule: the intensive +5 course, the
intensive course, the intensive +10 course and the intensive
+ salsa course.
Please check the updated starting dates before booking.
If you chose one to one classes, both the schedule and
the content are flexible and adapted to the needs and
objectives of the participant. We recommend this course
type especially for students who are preparing for a certain
exam and for professionals and students who need a specific
intensive programme, for example, business Spanish or exam
preparations.
Build a group with fellow students and save money! The price
is for 1 – 3 students. 1-6 hours daily over 60 minutes and a
duration of 1-12 weeks are possible.

The intensive courses in Ibiza Town and in San Antonio. at Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza usually take place in the morning and can
be booked the whole year round. You will start at 9:30 in a group
corresponding to your level. In the first two lessons until 11:00
you will have one teacher and after the break from 11:00 to 11:15
you will have a different teacher. This is our way to secure that
you will experience as much as possible from the Spanish world
in your classes. This is again a commitment to quality courses by
the Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza. Please chose your morning classes
within the Intensive course +5 of 25 lessons per week, the Intensive course of 20 lessons per week or the Intensive course +10 of

junior summer programme
The Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza´s prestigious
Junior Summer programme runs every July
on the island of Ibiza.
Our Teenage Summer Programme´s
focus is to teach the Spanish language
to students in a fun and dynamic manner.
The programme, specially designed by
summer camp professionals, combines a
high quality Spanish Intensive Course and
great residential accommodation with
spectacular excursions and activities on
the unique island of Ibiza.
The General Spanish Intensive Course
of 4 daily classes from Monday to
Friday between 9.00 and 12.15 in our
Summer Junior College is specifically
designed for young learners. Students
of different nationalities will mix in
small groups with a maximum of 14
students with the objective to speak
as much Spanish as possible. The
classes are dynamic and entertaining
and include games, songs, role playing
and projects.

Course levels are from A1 to B1. A
minimum of 1 year of school Spanish
is required. Absolute beginners may
book on request. Students will be
supervised during all activities by our
activity leaders.
Accommodation is in a residence hotel
of the Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza, sharing
full board (including a packed lunch) with
lovely facilities with direct beach access,
swimming pool for swimmers and nonswimmers, tennis fields, ping-pong, mini
golf, playground, volleyball, pool tables,
diving facilities, bicycles and more.
Social leaders give 24 hour care at
a ratio of 1 leader per 15 students. Bed
linen and towels are provided although
students should bring their own beach
towels. Linen is changed minimum once
a week. Laundry can be provided upon
request at an extra charge.
The activity programme is professionally
designed to encourage students to
make the most of their leisure time in
Ibiza. All activities are designed to allow
participants to be active outdoors, learn
about Ibiza and experience some of
the 54 spectacular beaches, have fun
and practice their Spanish during the
whole day.
Students will be picked up at Ibiza
International airport by a school
representative and will be accompanied
to the residence and will also be brought
back to the airport on departure. All

hotels and restaurants on the island of Ibiza.
The internship and work experience programmes consist of at

Spanish host families in Ibiza Town as well as in San Antonio or other points of the island,
shared apartments with other students or with Spaniards, private apartments as well as
hotels or even an own villa in Cala Vadella. Your accommodation is very important to us in
order to know you will feel comfortable in our language school and on the island of Ibiza.
Ibiza is a small island, therefore, your place of accomodation will always be near
the school.
Are you the independent type? Then the shared apartment could be the ideal option for
you. Your flatmates will most probably come from different countries or backgrounds
and may also be classmates from the school or other visitors on the island. You will
share the apartment with 1 to 5 flatmates. The apartment is completely furnished and
consists of single and double rooms, a common room with television, a common kitchen
with washing machine and bathrooms are shared.
The common areas are being cleaned once a week. The rest is every flatmate’s
responsibility and independency.
As our students come from many different countries, the shared apartment may turn
out to be a unique experience that allows you to expand your intercultural horizon.
The Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza selects host families carefully and inspects them regularly.
This accommodation type allows you a detailed insight into Spanish life style. Here you
will experience directly how the Spaniards organize their daily lives.
All our host families are within a 1-15 minutes walking distance from the school. Host
families may be found in many different constellations: families with father, mother and
child, single mothers with children, couples without children, etc..
Therefore, it may be that this accommodation is a single household. The experience
of the Spanish lifestyle remains the same.
Unless agreed differently, you will get a single room including breakfast. Linen will
be provided to you and you can use the washing machine 1 x per week. A private
bathroom and ironing service is usually not available, but maybe it can be agreed
with the family. Talking to the family is exactly what makes the homestay experience
particularly valuable!
Host families are suitable for those who are open to other cultures and are willing to
learn about a different way of life. In Ibiza Town as well as in San Antonio the most typical
way of living is in an apartment block.

Our school offers free excursions for its students. These cultural activities are optional,
but highly recommendable if you want to learn about ancient Ibicencan history and spend
some time with the other students. Apart from excursions, we also organize afternoon
films at the school and other different types of events.
The UNESCO has named Ibiza Town World Heritage.
Learn about Ibiza town and its history at our weekly museum visits, explore vibrant
San Antonio with the information we give you and plan your excursions over the island
with us. You will receive all necessary information for weekend trips or excursions, as,
for example, a visit of the neighbouring island of Formentera at the school reception.
The costs always depend on the excursion you choose.

Ibiza has one international airport and is directly accessible
from all major European cities. From Ibiza airport taxis and
buses are readily available. Alternatively, if you prefer, for
an additional charge you can be transferred by an Instituto
de Idiomas Ibiza representative who will meet you at
the airport when you arrive and drive you directly to your
accommodation.
Ibiza has a remarkably mild climate - even in winter the
temperature rarely drops under 5º celsius. From November
to April the average daytime temperature is about 15º
celsius - however when the sun comes out this can rapidly
climb to 25º C.

The summer season and the first really warm beach days begin
in May, with beautiful clear, sunny skies and temperatures in
the mid-twenties.
Between the months of June and September, there is very
little rain fall. In August and September the temperature
rises to over 30º C.
You will receive your reservation confirmation immediately
upon receipt of the enrolment form and the deposit.
All students have to attend a minimum of 80% of the classes
to receive a certificate. It will show the type of course taken,
the amount of lessons and the level of knowledge achieved
according to the European Framework of Reference.
If you are an EU citizen you do not need a visa to enter Spain. If
you are from outside the EU, whether or not you require a visa
will depend on which country you are from and how long you
wish to stay in Spain. Please contact the school or your local
Spanish embassy for further information.
The school is closed for a three week-period each Christmas
and on official public holidays. Please note that host family
accommodation is not available during Christmas week and
that public holidays are non-refundable.
We advise all students to take out sufficient medical and
personal insurance before they arrive in the country. EU citizens
should bring an European Health Insurance Card (or EHIC) with
them for medical insurance purposes. Students are not insured
by the school or host family against illness, theft or the loss of
personal possessions.
If a course is cancelled before it starts, please contact us to get
the refund according to our cancellation conditions. Refunds
are not given once a course has commenced.
