Cliveden
Dog Walkers’
Guide
We love dogs,
walk this way!
Cliveden is set within 375 acres of grounds,
300 acres of this is open to dogs. That means
that we welcome dogs across 80% of our
estate. We really do love dogs!
We know it can be confusing – where we
welcome dogs and where we ask you not to walk
them – so we’ve illustrated it on the map inside.
Dogs are allowed to stay at the hotel. Meaning you
may occasionally see a dog beyond the designated area,
as they make their way from the hotel to the Woodlands.
A few dog rules ...
Follow our local dog walkers much-loved routes,
or explore the Woodlands yourself. We just ask
that you adhere to the following:
Your dog should be kept in sight and under control
at all times.
Cliveden is home to lots of wildlife, a temptation
for even the best-behaved dog.
Please keep your dog on a lead as necessary.
We do not currently provide bins for dog waste here
at Cliveden.
Please clean up after your dog and take any waste
away with you.
If you do lose your dog anywhere on the estate,
please let a member of the Cliveden team know.
We will do what we can to help reunite you.
It’s been a pleasure ...

From the main car park, head through
the black iron gates, turn left and follow
the path onto Green Drive. Head south,
passing the Play Trail (31) and shortly
afterward the Woodland Lounge (32),
through the Woodlands car park and
beyond to the viewpoint. Follow the Grand
Walk high above the Thames back in the
direction of the gardens, taking a left turn
down the slope to the river, walking along
the towpath. Once you have passed the
boats (26), there are several routes taking
you back up to Green Drive on your right.
Back in the car park, why not stop at the
Refreshment Kiosk at the end
of your journey?
From the main car park, head through
the black iron gates, turn left and follow
the path onto Green Drive. Head south,
passing the Entry Kiosk until you get
to the second avenue of trees on your right.
This avenue joins up with the Grand Walk
set high above the Thames. Walk back
from here in the direction of the gardens,
pausing at the Duke’s Seat (29) before
looping back to Green Drive and passing
the start of the Fitness Trail (28) on your
right. Turn left back up to the gardens and
main car park.
From the Woodlands car park, head south
through the kissing gate and bear right at
the first junction. This path takes you on
a shorter, internal route of the woodlands,
passing horse paddocks on your right,
the Woodland Lounge (32) and the start
of the Play Trail (31) before doubling
back down Green Drive to the Woodlands
car park.
