Thispaperinvestigatesthecurrentattitudesandperceptionsoftourismbusinessowners inCapeTowntowardsresponsibletourismmanagement(RTM)practices.CapeTownas aninternationallyacclaimedtoptourismdestinationneedstourgentlyaddressitslow levelsofresponsibletourismevidence.Surveydataof244tourismbusinesseswereused tostatisticallytestwhatfactorsarecausingthelowlevelsofRTMpracticesintheCape Towntourismindustry.Findingssuggestthatdespitegeneralpositiveattitudestowards RTM,businessesarenotinvestingtimeandmoneyintochangingmanagementpractices.
