This Assignment is due the first day of class. If a student did not complete the assignment, a
make-up assignment will be due on Monday which will include additional Short Essays/Topics
for full credit.
The first time period (Period 1: 1490-1607) is primarily covered over the summer with the
Summer Short Essays due on the first day of class.
Attached below is the first Short Essay Questioned fully answered so you can better understand
the format. Thus, you can skip over the first question about the Pueblo Society/Culture.

From Period 1 (Ch. 1 & 2 of the text “The American Pageant” AP 15th Ed.), answer each
topic or question using the internet (Google each topic).
Make sure your answers relate to the time periods listed below!!
Your answers must be Neatly HAND WRITTEN. Illegible papers will have to be
rewritten!
50-70 words per Short Essay! 4 points for each.
30-40 words per topic! 3 points for each.
Students may use a Public Library if they do not have internet access at home.
Allow for at least 5-6 hours of work to complete the entire assignment.
