RANDY NADLER, in his continuing series of visits to foreign countries, has
explored India and neighboring Nepal via an Asian caravan and private guide.
You will be able to see for yourself what India is really like as you view her
beauty, hospitality, complexities and contradictions. More than just temples,
elephants, snake charmers and the Taj Mahal by moonlight—but also an
attitude of life and living that is as fresh as it was 2000 years ago.
• The Himalayas, capped by mighty Mt. Everest.
• The India – Pakistan border closing ceremony.
• The Golden Temple in Amritsar.
• The peculiar Deshnoke (rat) Temple in Bikaner.
• The Great Thar Desert of Rajasthan.
• The holy city of Varanasi and the River Ganges, with its endless streams of
people coming for prayer and ablutions, add to the captivating experience
known as INDIA.
RANDY NADLER will show you the best of over 5,000 pictures taken in
India and Nepal.

Using materials that are both educational and entertaining, the India
presentation correlates with various aspects of the overall curriculum. A few
examples are presented below. Showing our continuing concern for engaging
our audiences, whether they are first graders or college students, the
presentation is presented live and not taped, and, the delivery of the subject
matter is varied so as to maintain an extremely high level of interest with any
age audience!

HISTORY—The past lives on, alongside the present, in India. Delhi, its
capital, is a tale of two cities, one old and one new. Nepal, a medieval
kingdom, also provides a rare combination of old and new in art, culture and
civilization.
SOCIOLOGY—A gentle acceptance of life and living—the cycle of birth and
youth, old age and death is observable. In India, philosophic teachings, 5,000
years old, still guide the lives of many people. The Hindus are a people first, a
religion second, much like the Jews in the modern world. Hinduism is,
therefore, not so much a religion as a way of life.
GEOLOGY—7th Century Elephanta Caves in Mumbai (Bombay) Harbor,
with excavations carved out of solid rock; mighty Mt. Everest capping the
Himalayas; and Jaipur—also known as the “Pink City” because of the pink
stone used to fashion its buildings, are examples of phenomena which were
visited, studied and photographed.
