Salkazar — the Dragonborn Bahamut Paladin

Salkazar — the Dragonborn Bahamut Paladin
Bakground
As Salkazar hatched and grew up among the
priests and temple knights of the Order of
Bhahamut, he always saw himself as a
member of the Order. The brothers of the
Bahamut Order became his family. Salkazars
never met his real parents. The only thing
he knows is that they must have been strong
in the faith to have given him away
unhatched to the temple care.
Like all other dragonborn Salkazar learned
quickly and started his squire training
already as a three year old. He found great
joy and pride in learning the arts of the
sword. Soon he was both sharp and strong.
But felt a loss in his otherwise very proud
chest, where were those who looked like
himself? Sometimes Salkazar wished that he
was just an ordinary man.
It was first when he was five that he got into
contact with one of his own, his uncle
Kehakazar. His uncle told him why he hade
been given to the Order of Bahamut. It was
his mother who left him there, when their
home had been assaulted by desert
marauders, led by a hated tiefling. Salkazar’s
father had sworn to protect the village and
their homes but sent away his wife with the
unhatched egg to find protection at the
temple of Bahamut. After a long battle in
which he himself got killed, together with
his tribesmen. His wife vowed to avenge
him and followed the tracks from the marauders but also she must have been killed or something
even worse, as she never came back. None of them seemed to have survived, as far as his uncle
knew. It was therefore Kehakazar had come as soon as he understood that it was Salkazar who
were staying there, so he could honor his kinsmen by teaching Salkazar in the history of the
dragonborn.
Since that day Salkazar felt proud and made whole again, he was a dragonborn with all the noble
history that ancestral heritage meant, and belonged to the clan Kaze. A clan name with high
standing that should be honored well, as Kehakazar told Salkazar. Now, he would show that he
was worthy of his uncle, his astral heritage as well as the Order he served. That he made a serene
vow to himself. He had great achievement to perform to show that he was worthy of his clans
name’s great honor.
