Employee Punching at the
Biometric 2500 Time Clock
To track the amount of time worked, your company provides biometric clocks for
time punching. Biometric clocks use a fingerprint verification to ensure that the
fingerprint of the person punching at the time clock matches the fingerprint on file
for that employee.
How to Punch
To enter time into a Biometric 2500 time clock:

Clock In - used at the start of a shift
If enabled, you may have the
screens display in Spanish by
tapping the Espanol button
at the bottom of the home
screen. (2)
Clock Out - used at the end of a shift
Start Lunch - used at the beginning of meal
End Lunch - used at the end of meal
Start Break - used at the beginning of a break
End Break - used at the end of a break

2. Use the touch screen numeric keys (1) to enter your badge number.
3. Select the punch action.
4. Place your finger on the sensor located on the right side of the clock and
hold it in place until the clock displays Clocked In Successfully. (2)

Common Clock Messages
The following messages may appear on the clock when entering a transaction:
Invalid Badge
This message will display when you:
• Enter an invalid or unassigned badge number.
• Enter a badge number that does not match what is registered in the
clock.
Clock In not allowed...
This message will display if you are on a restricted schedule (which generally
prevents punching until a few minutes before your scheduled time). If this
happens, contact your supervisor to enter your time transaction or to do a
transaction override at the clock.
More Options
The Biometric 2500 time clock has non-punching functions that include:
• Pay Adjustment (such as tips)
• View Schedules
• Review Hours
Some non-punching functions
may only be available to
Administrators.
• PTO Requests
Your manager will show you how to use these options if they are set up for your
company.

Changing Labor Levels (Department Transfers)
A labor level indicates the area (department) of the company in which you may
work. Divisions, Branches, and Departments are labor levels defined by your
company. To change the labor level (department in which you are working):

Tap Transfer.
Put your finger on the sensor and wait until the scan is complete.
Select the correct department, tap OK.

Entering Pay Adjustments
Pay adjustments are dollar amounts that are sent to payroll in addition to hours
worked. Common pay adjustment types entered at the time clock include tips and
reimbursements. To enter pay adjustments at the time clock:

Enter your badge number.
Tap More Options.
Put your finger on the sensor and wait until the scan is complete.
From the More Options screen, tap Pay Adjustments. Select the Pay
Adjustment type. (1)
Enter an amount in dollars and cents.
Tap Add. (2)
If you are not sure how your company’s function keys are assigned, contact your
manager for assistance.
