A Note from our Director
Another wonderful day for another fantastic carnival! I trust that all who attended had a
great time. I measure carnival success by the delight radiating from our children’s faces and
the parents comfort levels. I really enjoyed watching families move from room to room,
lounging outside in the sunshine, enjoying food and even dropping some goofy guy in the
dunk tank. A shout out to the brave teachers who also ‘enjoyed’ a cool, refreshing dip!
Special thanks to the Board for planning and implementing this event.
Please stop by to pick up your silent auction and raffle items this week.
Thank you for completing our Parent Survey during Parent/Teacher conferences several
weeks ago. We value your opinions which our leadership team and teachers are processing
and learning from. I truly believe in the model of continuous improvement for any
organization. Great experiences happen at Aldrich for children but we are committed to
continue to improve and provide for even richer learning experiences.
Thank you for allowing me to part of your lives over the past four years. It has brought me
much joy to partner with parents and teachers in creating a supportive early learning
environment for our little ones. I am confident that the children are stronger, more
independent, more creative and more eager to learn for the rest of their lives because of our
shared early investments in their lives.
Respectfully,
Kevin Ewing

And now it’s time to say good-bye…
The end of the school year is a natural time of transition; kids moving on to older
classrooms, teachers moving classrooms and some staff beginning a whole new
adventure in life! Emilie Dailey (3AM3, 3PM3, 2FD3) will be taking a leave of
absence for the 2017-2018 School Year to focus on her family, we still may see her
smiling face in classrooms subbing! We also say good-bye to Kevin Ewing, our
awesome Director for the past 4 year years. We thank them for their commitment to
our program and wish them the very best in their future endeavors.
Enrichment Classes for School Year 2017/2018
Enrichment classes for next year will have a slight
change for next school year. Instead of sessions being
5 weeks in length, sessions will run for 4 weeks. This
allows us to offer more fun themes! We are currently
finalizing the offerings. More information will be
coming in the June mailing.
We will continue to offer year- round music class
again, which will again be taught by Ms. Miriam. We are excited to announce that
Spanish class will be offered again as a year- round enrichment! Ms. Curtin is excited
to get Spanish started again for the 2017-2018 School Year!
****More details on these classes will arrive in our June mailing!***

Carnival 2017: Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s carnival a success! Thank you to
all of the board members, staff, and parents who supported the carnival by offering time
and talents, donating items for the raffle and silent auction, and volunteering to help at
the carnival! We would also like to thank the many local businesses and organizations
that made contributions to the carnival. Please note these names at the end of the
newsletter, and be sure to thank them for supporting Aldrich.
With the support of the Aldrich board, staff, families, and the Rochester community, this
wonderful event was made possible! Thanks to those of you who were able to spend a
sunny May day at Aldrich. Proceeds of the carnival go to our financial aid fund and to
our general operating fund in order to keep tuition prices more affordable, with a goal of
enriching the lives of many children in our community. We hope those who attended
had a wonderful time, and we look forward to seeing many families again next year.
