A little flower can go a long way when it
comes to accessories. This free crochet
flower pattern forms a beautiful threelayered bloom that will spruce up any
outfit, bag, or headpiece. You could even
attach several Leona Flowers to a long
crochet chain in order to create decorative
garland.
2) Make sure to maintain consistent height
of stitches in working multiple double
crochets into one st.
3) ch3 or ch4 counts as a dc throughout.

4-ply knitting worsted
I-9 crochet hook
Notes:
1) the 1st st of the ch4 should serve as a
slip knot whereby as the sts are loaded the
1st is increasing in size to accommodate
multiple sts being worked into it (how to
make that happen: after making the slip
knot for the beg ch st, be sure that the
short end is to the left; that is, if the chain st
is laying flat and untwisted, the short end

HOW-TOS – Seamless Join Finish at End of
Round
Use this joining method at the end of a rnd
of crochet sts for a seamless join. When
the last st of the rnd is worked, cut yarn
leaving a 6” tail. Pull thru lp on hk
maintaining st tension. Thread yarn
needle; insert needle thru/under both lps
of 1st st of rnd. Insert needle into ctr of last
st of rnd thru to the wrong side; do not
twist st; weave in tail.
(to wk: fr post hdc: yo, insert hk in right sp
made under sets of dcs, under sl sts and up
thru next sp under dcs, yo/pull thru 3lps on
hk), sk sl st, rep * around, ending w/fr post

Make Two Simple Crocheted Flowers with
this free crochet pattern. In the instructions
you will find a pattern for two five-petal
flowers, one pointed and one rounded.
These are easy to work up and have a cute
button for the center. Attach to any item
you want for a fun embellishment.
Round 1: *Ch 5, sc in second chain from
hook, dc in next three chains, sl st to join to

5 Petal Crochet Flower

The 5 Petal Crochet Flower is a super cute
crochet design with a double layer. This
crocheted flower can be turned into a
button or a pin and can even be attached to
a plain headband. The possibilities are
endless.
5 Petal Crochet Flower

Materials:
 G size (4.25 mm) crochet hook
 Small amount of cotton or acrylic
worsted weight yarn.
 Yarn needle
 Pin or Barrette
Magic Ring: Wrap yarn around 2 fingers as
if to start with a chain, pull up a loop, but
do not tighten. Yarn over, and secure a
chain stitch on hook. Work Round 1
stitches into ring then pull tight.
*Note: If you intend on attaching a pin or
barrette to the flower, I recommend leaving
a long tail before you start, and using the
tail to secure the pin/barrette once the
flower is complete.
Round 1: Start with a magic ring. 5 sc in
the ring. Join with sl st to first sc, pull tight.
Round 2: *Ch 3, sl st in next sc*. Repeat
from * 4 more times. The last sl st will be in
the sc you started with. You should have 5
loops.
Round 3: Work (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in
each ch-3 space.
Round 4: * Ch 5, working behind the first
set of petals, sl st in the back of the sc from

ROUND 1: *2 sc in next chain, ch, 1 sc in
next ch* rep from * 1 more time. (6 st)
ROUND 2: *working in same stitch, sl st in

ch *, rep from *to * 3 more times. 5 petals
made.
You can stop there if you want teeny tiny
flowers, or you can continue with another
round to make the petals fuller, as follows:
