Rabbi Daniel Sherman
MAY IS ALREADY HERE?
As I am writing this column, we have just completed celebrating Passover this year. I want to thank everyone who
attended our Congregational Seder on the second night of Passover. We had a wonderful evening, as we joined
together to celebrate Passover as a congregational family. I especially want to thank Abbey Shepard-Smith, our Ritual
Committee chairperson, for all of her help. And a special thank you goes to Scott Kushner and Palm Caterers for
making such a beautiful Seder and delicious meal for us. Todah Rabbah! We will look forward to doing this again
next year.
April has gone by very quickly, and all of a sudden it is time to look ahead to the month of May – which will also be a
very busy month for us with lots to look forward to.
We begin May by observing Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut. Yom HaZikaron, on Monday, May 1, is
Israel’s Memorial Day – a very somber day in Israel when we remember all of those who have lost their lives fighting
for the creation and protection of Israel. The following day, Tuesday, May 2, is Yom HaAtzmaut – Israel’s
Independence Day. This year we celebrate the 69th birthday of the Modern State of Israel, and we pray that it may be
the beginning of a year of strength, blessing, and peace for the people and land of Israel. In honor of Yom HaAtzmaut
we will celebrate an Israel-themed First Friday Family Shabbat on May 5. We will begin at 6 pm with an
Israeli-style Shabbat dinner, followed by a special service at 7pm. After celebrating our May anniversaries and
birthdays, we will conclude with the singing of HaTikvah – Israel’s national anthem.
The following Shabbat we will hold our special Confirmation Ceremony and Shabbat Service on May 12.
This is one of my favorite services of the year. I am very proud of our Confirmation Class of 5777: Libby Baker,
Brian Kessler, Ricky Schubarg, Marc Shapiro, Cassidy Sheldon, Rachel Silverman, and Gabriella Winkler. I have
enjoyed teaching them and studying with them every Sunday morning, as we have discussed what it means to be
Jewish in 2017 and beyond and how to live a meaningful adult Jewish life. Our Confirmands have also volunteered
their time in our Religious School, serving as teaching assistants, helpers, and role models for our younger students.
They are wonderful positive examples, and I hope they will inspire even more of our students to continue their Jewish
education at TDD.
On Friday, May 19 we will honor all of our high school graduates. I am especially proud of our TAG
Graduates – our 12th graders who have continued to study with me once a month throughout this year. We have had
some great conversations and discussions. I will greatly miss our seniors next year, who have been such an active
class at Temple.
Sunday, May 21 will be our final day of Religious School, which will be especially “bittersweet” this year. The
year seems to have flown by. It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago that Teresa and I were making plans for changes
for this school year. Now we will gather to thank all of our teachers, students, volunteers and families with a special
assembly and closing day festivities. It will also be time for us to begin to say “Todah Rabbah” and “Lehitraot” to our
amazing Director of Religious Education, Teresa Parker. Teresa will be retiring this summer and leaving us after six
years of dedicated service. Teresa is extremely hard-working, talented, creative, and caring. She has poured her heart
and soul into our congregation through all of our educational programs. She has a true love for our students and
families and our entire Temple. She has been a wonderful and trusted partner for me, and I will miss her
tremendously. Over these next few weeks, let’s be sure that we thank Teresa for all that she has done here at
Temple Dor Dorim and wish her well as she begins this next chapter of her life back home in Texas.
Finally, I am looking forward to our celebration of Shavuot on Tuesday evening, May 30. We will gather at
7:00 pm for a special Festival Service and Torah Study, as we celebrate the anniversary of our receiving God’s
teachings and the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai long ago. Come join us for prayer, study, discussion, and
dessert (cheesecake is a wonderful Shavuot tradition). Chag Sameach!

Hal Mindel,
President
My Fellow Congregants,
Believe it or not, our Temple season is quickly coming to yet another close. Soon, our ECC Pre-k Students
will be graduating, and our Hebrew Chai Schoolers will be confirmed. Season finale events for Sisterhood,
Brotherhood, Empty Nesters and many other social and educational groups are in the final planning stages
as our Finance Committee puts its last minute stamp on next year’s budget, and our Board of Trustees
wraps up another season of valued Temple leadership with our Annual Meeting on Thursday Evening
June 15. This will be the final “Town Hall” style meeting of the year. As always, member input is the driving
component of policy, organizational structure and change. I hope you will all attend, and join the
conversation.
The Executive Committee will complete its second year of the term as many of them have even pre-dated
me as President. Coming into the final year of my term, it is my hope that more current board members will
come forward to take an even larger role in how Dor Dorim is managed in the coming years. This coming
year, we will have 4 At-Large Trustee positions in need of filling with the by-laws allowing for an additional
4 seats to be made available thus expanding our board and making Temple leadership accessible to
members looking to get involved, but not specifically tied to any one task or group. At-Large Trustees have
the same voting responsibility as every board member but have the luxury of participating in committees
that most interest them, and where their personal and professional experience can best be leveraged for the
benefit of all Temple members.
Anyone interested in assuming an At-Large Trustee position on my board for the upcoming two-year term
and the last year of my Presidency is encouraged to contact me immediately. Let’s talk about your family’s
Dor Dorim experience, what interests you about Temple leadership and how you can enhance your life, put
your skills to work for your community and allow your friends and family to see how giving back and
actively participating (not just passively criticizing) in improving the Weston Reform Jewish experience for
everyone can feel. Call me anytime to discuss at 954-439-5526 or send me an e-mail at
[email protected]. It would be my pleasure to talk with you about a place that I have great
pride in, and has given me and my family great joy during all of our years of Dor Dorim leadership
experience.
As we recently announced, our beloved Director of Religious Education, Teresa Parker, will be retiring and
returning to her Texas home this summer to be closer to her family. We are very sad to have to say goodbye
to Teresa, but we are excited for her as she begins this next phase of her life.
Teresa has been such an important part of our Dor Dorim family for the past six years. She has touched the
lives of hundreds and hundreds of our kids and families. There will be opportunities for us to come together
and show Teresa our Dor Dorim gratitude, to wish her well and to say “shalom.”
A Search Committee has been formed and has already begun the process to find our next Education
Director. We expect to have a candidate hired and in place over the summer to begin working prior to our
next school year.
Seeya in Shul.

Bonnie Rayman,
Executive Director
As we near the end of our school year, Temple Dor Dorim continues to be as busy as we were all year!
We have some new classes, including The Jewish Superstitions Class & Brunch with Rabbi Lipson on
Thursdays at 10 am, and Mindfulness, Meditation & Movement with Dr. Linda Janasz-Rosen on
Monday evenings at 7 pm. We hope you try one of these adult education opportunities at TDD.
First Friday Family Shabbat Dinner & Services continue to be a huge hit, with numbers sometimes
reaching 100 or more. In April, we were all literally dancing in shul during the Friday service and the
dinner, as always, was spectacular. Please make sure you reserve in advance with Faye Kotler at
[email protected].
On Friday, May 19, we will have our Annual Enhanced Member Shabbat Dinner. We want to thank
all of our Enhanced Members as your support is so critical to the Temple’s operations and programs. We
hope you can all join us on this special night.
On Sunday, May 21 we are holding our 12th Annual Poker Tournament, hosted by Brotherhood. Don’t
let Brotherhood fool you though – because WOMEN are welcome! We don’t just play poker, we also have
Black Jack tables available all night. Everyone who makes the final table for Poker (usually 9), will all
receive a great prize – the top 3 prizes are guaranteed to be VISA gift cards. At the last tournament in
December, the top 5 received VISA Gift Cards, starting at $500. The top 3 Black Jack chip holders will also
get their choice of prizes as well. Palm Caterers offers a beautiful dinner buffet, plus we have a bar with
beer, wine and other drinks. Top it off with a fabulous candy bar and the night is truly amazing! Dinner
and Registration begin at 6 pm and the cards fly at 7 pm. It’s $75 if you register by May 15.
After May 15, the fee will go up to $85. We have great add-on and rebuy options as well, including a combo
deal for $50 which includes the Initial Add-On Chips, the Break Add-On Chips and One Rebuy which add
up to $70, so you save $20 if you buy the Combo! We are offering babysitting as well for no charge, but you
must RSVP so we have enough staff. To register for the Poker Tournament event go to
www.dordorim.org/poker. Proceeds from the Poker Tournament event benefit Temple Dor Dorim
programs, and we greatly appreciate your support.
Happy May!

Kulanu Campaign
Dear Temple Dor Dorim,
By the time you read this message, Passover will have passed. Leftovers are no longer left over. There may
still be a box or two of matzah in the pantry – good with breakfast with a little cream cheese or a
midnight snack with some peanut butter and jelly. Hopefully, that warm feeling of togetherness, of
celebrating our Jewish traditions as a family, will last a long time. For those Temple members who
celebrated the second night Seder at Dor Dorim – coming together as a community to celebrate Passover
was indeed a very special experience! Our Temple is truly an extended family!
We want that experience to continue all year round. During the month of May, we will be celebrating
Yom Ha’atzmaut on May 2, Lag B’Omer on May 14, and Shavuot on May 31.
In order to provide the programming, refreshments, and spiritual enlightenment for our members and
friends we need your help. Won’t you please consider making a pledge to the KULANU campaign? Your
donation will help Dor Dorim to make available those funds which otherwise would have to be spent on
paying off our new mortgage.
Please call or email me at [email protected], or my Co-Chair, Adam Silverman at
[email protected] or our executive director, Bonnie Rayman at [email protected].
We would love to add your name to the growing list of our temple families who have already provided
support for KULANU.

What A Year!
It is hard to believe we have so few class sessions left – where did the time go?
The teachers and I are still getting used to the new schedule of adjusting programs and lesson plans for the majority of
our students who are in the classrooms only on Sundays. We totally appreciate the feedback and input parents have
given to us to help make the shorter school week as meaningful and productive as possible. Thank you.
An extra special thank you to all the parents who have given of their time to make this year a success. First, thank you
to Joanne Chiet, PTO President, who not only recruited volunteers but each week has been a “regular” volunteer.
Second, thank you to the Room Parents who volunteered to help with class parties, special programs and worked to
get other class parents more involved in the Religious School life of their children: Wendy Berkowitz, Jody Drexler,
Ashley Falk, Laura Fishman, Debra Forrest, Carrie Lazarus, Mara Mittentag, Adam Olinick (times two), Laurie Riley,
Allison Sherman, Janet Steinman, and Helene Weiss. Without you, we would not have been able to do as many
special school-wide programs! And to our volunteer “cooking specialists” Lara Baker and Faye Kotler who brought
Jewish cooking to the children, a special tasty thank you.
Thank you to the youth who have volunteered time to assist teachers in the classroom. Somehow, with their busy high
school schedules, extra-curricular activities, or preparing for college, they still found a few hours to spend with the
children of TDD Religious School: Libby Baker, Rebecca Grinker, Carly Jakob, Madison Jakob, Sydney Kantor,
Amelia Meles, Ashley Newman, Brendon Samuels, Ricky Schubarg, Lily Schwartz, Stephanie Stone,
Gabriella Winkler, and Max Winton.
We are going to end the school year with a BIG BANG! Sunday, May 7 the teachers will lead the students through
their favorite on-your-feet activity, exploring Israel right here in Weston. On Sunday, May 21 parents are invited to
join their children for the end of the year assembly followed by a picnic. In between those weeks, the 10th graders in
our Confirmation Class will lead the worship service on Friday, May 12, and we will honor our graduating seniors at
the T.A.G. Shabbat on Friday, May 19. Be sure you mark all these special dates on your family calendar.
Now for a personal thank you. Thank you to all the families, the children, and the teachers who have made my time at
Temple Dor Dorim Religious School a special time in my life. This July, I will be leaving Florida, and my
TDD Family, to return to Texas where I am needed to help support my birth family. It has been a very difficult
decision to leave TDD, especially to leave the support and camaraderie of Rabbi Daniel Sherman. TDD is lucky
beyond measure to have such a caring individual be their spiritual leader. Thank you, Rabbi Sherman, for being a
teacher par excellance!
The Prayer Book often vocalizes what our hearts need to hear, so I share with you a teaching by Norman Hirsh:
Once or twice in a lifetime,
a man or woman may choose
a radical leaving, having heard
Lech l’cha – Go forth.
God disturbs us toward our destiny
by hard events and by freedom’s now urgent voice
which explode and confirm who we are.
We don’t like leaving,
but God loves becoming.

Once school was out for the summer, my days were filled with family trips, day camps and overnight
camps, campouts, swimming, BBQs and lots of fun and friendships. One thing I remember from camp was
that I learned the blessing after the meal, Birkat HaMazon. We would sing (pray) a condensed version after
each meal. I worked hard learning all the words. One day someone who worked at camp came up to me
while we were praying and gently corrected just two words that I had a bit wrong (I thought they were
repeated but they just sounded similar to the words before). I have never forgotten those words of
thanksgiving for the food we eat and for God who sustains us. You just never know what you might learn at
camp; a song, a prayer, a dance, a sport, how to build a fire, how to make friendship bracelets, how to share,
how to apologize. I am looking forward to learning and teaching this summer at URJ Camp Coleman (our
regional camp in Cleveland, GA) and at the URJ Kutz Camp (a NFTY Leadership Academy in Warwick,
NY). I hope many of you (or your children) get the opportunity to experience camp, here at TDD, through
the Union for Reform Judaism, or elsewhere. I look forward to hearing about all of your summer
experiences when the school year begins again. I hope your summer is filled with fireflies and lemonade.

Early Childhood Director
It’s hard to believe that the school year is coming to a close. Time truly flies! We are just about to finish our 18 th year
in the ECC (our CHAI year) and to see the children who started here in our ECC all grown up and as contributing
members to our community is truly astounding! As a school, we have accomplished so much. We have been voted
several times over as Best Early Childhood Center in Weston. We are a State Gold Seal school. We have earned and
maintained the highest form of national accreditation (NAEYC) for as long as we’ve been in existence. It is our
reputation for quality education and high standards that has made us the community choice in Weston.
Thank you to my hard working staff for all you do each day. This month we recognize our staff with Teacher
Appreciation Week, but the recognition is deserved well beyond a week that’s celebrated each year. Thank you to
CHAI, our parent organization, for supporting our staff and letting our teachers know they are loved and appreciated.
I feel honored each day to see what we have created here together and am beaming with pride every time I walk a tour
down our hallways.
School ends the first week in June immediately followed by CAMP TDD. We have awesome action and adventure
planned for our campers here over the Summer and look forward to having so many of you join us in the fun!

Ritual
Shavuot is referred to as “Chag HaShavuot” (Festival of Weeks), “Chag HaKatzir” (Festival of the Harvest), and
“Yom HaBikkurim” (Day of First Fruits). Originally an agricultural festival, Shavuot, along with Passover and
Sukkot, formed the “Shalosh Regalim” (three pilgrimage festivals). During those festivals, Israelites were
commanded to travel to Jerusalem in order to bring the first fruits of the harvest to the Temple and present them to
the priests. “Festival of Weeks” refers to the seven week period between Passover and Shavuot, considered to be the
length of the wheat harvest. The destruction of the Second Temple in 70 C.E. presented a challenge to the observance
of Shavuot. Since pilgrimages and sacrifices were no longer possible, it became necessary to create new customs and
rituals that could be observed while in exile.
The rabbis noticed that the time frame for the journey from Egypt to the foot of Mount Sinai was approximately the
same as the time between Passover and Shavuot, and that the date commanded for Shavuot seemed to correspond to
the day Torah was given to Moses and the people. They added another name for Shavuot, calling it “Z’man Matan
Torateinu” (The Time of the Giving of our Torah). The agricultural roots of Shavuot are still acknowledged, but
modern interpretations and customs focus more on Shavuot as the commemoration of the giving of Torah.
Confirmation ceremonies are often held on Shavuot since they represent the students’ reaffirmation to Judaism and
the Jewish people. Dairy foods (especially cheesecake and blintzes) are traditionally eaten on Shavuot because the
words of Torah are often compared to “milk and honey.” Make your favorite cheesecake recipe or try this one from
Israel:
Baked Israeli Cheesecake
This cheesecake uses the Israeli white cheese (similar to the German quark), and the result is a light fluffy dessert.
You can find Israeli cheese in Kosher markets and some Costco branches. You can get quark cheese at Whole Foods.
Yields 10” round cake
Ingredients:
For the base:
4.2 oz tea biscuits or Petit-Beurre
biscuits
2 TBSP melted butter
For the cheese filling:
1 lb. white cheese (or quark)
3 eggs at room temperature,
separated
8 TBSP sugar
1 cup whipping cream
1 TBSP lemon juice
Zest from one lemon
8 TBSP flour
For the topping:
1 lb. sour cream
3 TBSP sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 300° F. Butter a 10-inch spring-form pan.
2. In the food-processor crumble the tea biscuits until fine. With the food-processor still running add the melted
butter. Flatten the crumbled tea biscuits mixture into the bottom of the pan.
3. For the filling - mix all the ingredients, except the egg whites. Whip the egg whites until firm and fold into the
cheese mixture. Pour into the pan and bake for 45 minutes.
4. While the cake is in the oven, mix the sour cream and the sugar.
5. After 45 minutes take the cake out of the oven and using a spatula very gently spread the sour cream on top. The
center of the cake will be very soft at this point so be careful not to break it. Return the cake to the oven for another
10 minutes. At this point, the center of the cake will still be very shaky and this is fine. Cool the cake on a rack and
refrigerate overnight before serving.

Sisterhood
It has been a great year at Temple Dor Dorim. The Sisterhood has hosted many wonderful events
throughout the year.
Last month, we finished our enlightening Speaker Series learning about the LGBTQ community and
enjoyed Meatballs and Martinis at our Girls Night Out. We want to thank everyone who purchased items
from our "Mitzvah Tree" to support Kids in Distress. Also, a special thank you to those who baked and
delivered goods to our local fire stations and police departments.
This was my first year on the Sisterhood board, and it has been a wonderful experience. I have met some
amazing women, who have welcomed me into the fold. I have learned, through their guidance, designing
and executing programs that enhance Jewish life. I was excited to serve as Religious School Liaison because
Teresa Parker is someone that I have admired and respected for all of the years my children have attended.
I was saddened to learn that she would be leaving and cannot imagine the Temple without her. She has
assured me that she will return to visit us in the coming years.
The Sisterhood would like to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all of our Temple mothers. We also want to
say congratulations to all of the parents who have children graduating from Kindergarten through college.
Finally, I want to express my gratitude to my very dear friend, Susan Kosh, who encouraged me to join the
Sisterhood last year. This amazing group is a conduit for women of all ages to perform Mitzvot for our
community and larger population. Belonging to Sisterhood enhances personal learning, growth, fulfillment
and a deeper connection to God. I hope more women will consider joining this wonderful group of Jewish
sisters.

Empty Nesters
Each year, beginning in 1963, May has been the month designated by the Administration on Aging (AOA), as Older Americans
Month, to appreciate and celebrate the vitality and aspirations of older adults and their contributions to our communities. Each
year this Federal department issues a theme for the month, which this year is “Age Out Loud!” As Empty Nesters, the 2017
theme gives us an opportunity to shine a light on our many important issues and trends, as we “strive for wellness, focus on
independence, and advocate for ourselves and others.” We expect to continue to live our lives to the fullest, and insist on changes
that make all this possible by “Aging Out Loud,” Amen.
To begin the month, on Monday, May 1, we observe “Yom HaZikaron,” Israel’s National Memorial Day. This day is
Israel’s designated Remembrance Day to commemorate both the recent and past fallen victims of conflicts and terror in Israel.
This day concludes between 7 and 8:00 pm, at which time the celebrations begin for “Yom Ha’atzmaut,” Israel’s
Independence Day. The timing of Independence Day, immediately following Memorial Day, is meant to remind Israelis of the
price which the country and its people have paid for the right to exist. This date actually corresponds to the original signing of the
Declaration of Independence on May 14, 1948 and celebrates the establishment of the Jewish State.
Then, on the first two Thursdays, May 4 and May 11, at 10:15 am, we will enjoy Rabbi Lipson’s final two sessions on
“Jewish Superstitions.” These, “everything you wanted to know” interactive and fun sessions, sponsored by the Empty
Nesters, include lunch prepared by Palm Caterers, for $20 for both, or $15 each. RSVP to Faye Kotler
([email protected]) or me ([email protected]). Be prepared for an interesting and fun time.
Sadly, our Empty Nesters activity year ends with our “Closing Dinner,” on Thursday, May 11, at 6:30 pm. This year the dinner,
chaired by Sylvia Saks and Lee Wiener, returns to Tarantella Restaurant and will feature: home-made bread, antipasto, salad,
a selection from four entrees, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. John Can, our host at Tarantella’s, has always been gracious
in making this dinner an exceptional dining experience. The price, at this members-only dinner, will be $35 per person.
As always, singles are invited to bring a guest.
Of course, we cannot forget “Mother’s Day,” on Sunday, May 14, an occasion we look to celebrate with our families. It is a day
to honor all mothers by expressing our gratitude for the sacrifices, along with the joys, they experienced in bringing up their
children. Although many of our mothers are no longer with us, their impact on our lives and memories will be with each of us
forever.
Currently, we are in the midst of the seven-week cycle, Sefirat HaOmer (the Counting of the Omer), which is a semi-mourning
period to commemorate the tragedies experienced by the Jewish people during this time. “Lag B'Omer” is on the 33rd day of
the Counting of the Omer, which this year is Sunday May 14. Only on this day are the mourning restrictions lifted, and we are
able to have weddings and other festivities. The counting begins on the second day of Passover and culminates in the holiday of
“Shavuot” at sundown Wednesday, May 31. Shavuot falls one day after the 49 days of crossing the desert and celebrates the
revelation at Mt. Sinai, the giving of the Torah to the Children of Israel. On Shavuot each year, we renew our acceptance of God’s
gift of the Torah, which included the Ten Commandments.
“Memorial Day,” on the last Monday, May 29, is an American federal holiday that memorializes all men and women who have
died while serving in the United States military protecting our country. For many, Memorial Day also signifies the beginning of
summer, just as Labor Day, in September, signifies its end.
Finally, although I am writing this article prior to the Empty Nesters Shabbat Dinner and Service in April, I know it will be a
beautiful and memorable event for Alice and me. We are so very appreciative of the honor to be this year’s recipients of the
“Rabbi Norman S. Lipson Generations Award.” We thank Rabbis Lipson and Sherman, Hal Mindel and TDD’s Executive
Committee, for our selection as recipients. Also, we thank Elaine Jacobson and Lenore Rosa for Chairing the Shabbat Dinner,
as well as their personal support over these many years.
As always, we are looking for fresh and interesting event ideas, along with volunteers to assist with the planning and
implementation of our activities next year. Please contact me to become involved.
Shalom,
Gary Holtzman

7 pm Festival Service, Torah Study, and Dessert
Please mark your calendars for the Festival of Shavuot, one of the most important
holidays of the year, which we will celebrate on Tuesday evening, May 30. Shavuot
marks the anniversary of our receiving God’s teachings at Mt. Sinai long ago and is one
of the three Pilgrimage Festivals – along with Passover and Sukkot. Known as “the
Festival of Weeks,” Shavuot takes place seven weeks after the beginning of Passover.
We will celebrate with a special Festival Eve Service and Torah Study beginning at
7 pm. Please join us as we stand once again at Mt. Sinai and read The Ten
Commandments from the Book of Exodus. Then we’ll continue to study and enjoy
coffee and dessert together.

If you missed the outstanding speakers and breakout sessions at the
2017 AIPAC Policy Conference, go to aipac.org and watch the videos
and learn about the amazing projects that Israel is working on with
countries around the world.
From Rabbi Sherman: I was honored to be a part of the Temple Dor Dorim delegation at this year’s AIPAC Policy Conference in
Washington, DC. It was my first time ever to attend the conference – an experience I had been looking forward to for quite some time. Luckily
I had the experience and wisdom of Lorelei and Bob Ennis to guide me. It is hard to fully describe the conference. I knew it would be large –
but it was even bigger than I had expected. There was something for everyone, with long lists of amazing speakers and topics. We heard from
many top leaders in both the United States and Israel. I was quite impressed by the bi-partisan approach to which AIPAC is committed. I
thought it was wonderful that a wide variety of views and perspectives was offered.
The main theme of the Policy Conference was focusing on the strong US-Israel relationship. The message to Congress emphasized these three
areas: keeping an eye on Iran, funding United States aid to Israel, and fighting the delegitimization of Israel in all forms.
It was great to be part of our active TDD delegation, and I want to encourage even more to consider attending the conference next year.
AIPAC News Hub: Israel Declares David’s Sling Missile Shield Operational
On April 2, Israel announced that a new and advanced missile defense system, “David’s Sling,” is now operational. This achievement will ensure the safety
of countless Israelis thanks to bi-partisan support in Congress and your work with AIPAC.
With hundreds of thousands of missiles pointed at the Jewish state, including GPS-guided missiles in the hands of Hezbollah, the David’s Sling technology
more than triples the range of Iron Dome and will provide protection over the entire country. It was co-developed by American defense contractor Raytheon
and Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd.
With your help, AIPAC has lobbied Congress to provide more than $1 billion for David’s Sling, including $287 million in 2016.
