Write a definition of ‘internal conflict’.
Task one
Read Chapter 5 of Frankenstein, when the creature first comes to life.
Write a sub heading for each paragraph to summarise what happens.
Task two
1. Draw a graph (see below) and write each subheading onto the X-axis of the graph.
Plot levels of tension along this axis.
2. Use the Y-axis to plot how tense Victor is feeling at each stage in the chapter.
Plot the events of each paragraph along this axis.
Task three
Look at the language Shelley uses in each section. How does the language show Victor’s feelings?
