British organ virtuoso Thomas Trotter marks the 10th anniversary of his inaugural recital on the Overture
Concert Organ when he returns to Madison for a solo performance Tues., Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in

the Royal Albert Hall (London), and Moscow’s International Performing Arts Centre (Russia).
Appointed Birmingham, England City Organist in 1983, Trotter plays the 6,000-pipe organ in
Birmingham Town Hall built in 1890 by William Hill. He also serves as organist at St. Margaret’s
Church, Westminster Abbey in London.
In May 2002, Trotter was the first organist to receive the Royal Philharmonic Society’s award for the Best
Instrumentalist. In 2012, the New York City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presented its
International Performer of the Year Award to him.
In this concert, his fifth performance in Overture Hall, he will play the music of Bach, Duprè,
Mendelssohn, Stanford and others.
General admission for the concert is $20 and tickets can be purchased at
