ITINERARY
Day 1: Lima
On arrival you will be met by Gisel and
transferred to your hotel in Lima for 2 nights.
Day 2: Lima
Today, you will be taken on a tour of Lima
old town, a UNESCO World Heritage full of
fascinating historic buildings. Visit the colonial
downtown area, the Cathedral and Casa
Aliaga, a colonial mansion offering the most
complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and
silver artefacts. Overnight in Lima. (B)
Day 3: Lima - Arequipa
Today you will be transferred to the airport
for your flight to Arequipa. On arrival you
will be taken on a tour of the city including
the Carmen Alto Scenic Viewpoint and the
exclusive and traditional Yanahuara quarter.
Here you can wander the small streets of
cobblestones to the Main Square, and see
the Cathedral and the Monastery of Santa
Catalina. Overnight in Arequipa. (B)
Day 4: Arequipa - Colca
Today you will head for Colca, stopping in the
Yura district, enroute, which is known for its
rugged hills and ravines. You will also enter
Pampa Canahuas, famous for its' Andean
camelid, before visiting Vizcacahni, Pampas de
Toccra, the crater of the volcano Chucura and
on to Mirador de los Andees at Patapampa.
Lunch will be in the village of Chivay before
heading to your hotel. Two nights in Colca. (B,L)
Day 5: Colca
Today you will be taken to the Colca Valley
(the second deepest canyon in the world,
more than 4km at its deepest part) where you
have a chance of seeing the majestic condors
in flight. On the way back to Chicay you will
pass through the villages of Pinchollo, Maca,
Achoma and Yanque. After lunch at Colca
Lodge visit Colcas at Chinnia, the incredible
pre-Inca constructions before returning to
Chivay. (B,L)
having lunch at Sicvanio. After lunch, you will visit
Raqchi an Inca site built in honor of Wiracocha, a
powerful Andean God, before heading to Cusco.

Day 9: Sacred Valley
Twin Share
This morning begins with a visit to Pisac market,
which has scores of stands that exhibit and sell
local products. After lunch at a local restaurant,
you will visit Ollantaytambo Park, stopping
at various points of interest along the way.
Ollantaytambo is a typical example of the urban
planning by the Incas, whose descendants still live
in accordance with their old traditions. At the end
of your trip, you will be transferred back to your
hotel. (B, L)
Day 10: Sacred Valley- Machu Picchu - Cusco
Today will be a major highlight with a tour to
Machu Picchu, starting with a train ride to Aguas
Calientes. This town is the last stop before the
entrance to the remains of the most important
archaeological site in Peru. Machu Picchu is a
masterpiece of engineering and architecture that
is believed to have served as a sanctuary and
retreat for the Inca Pachacutec (1438 - 1572). Late
afternoon you will board the train for your return
to Cusco. Three nights in Cusco. (B. L)

NOTE: This tour requires a minimum of
10 passengers to be escorted.
Day 11: Cusco
The Inti Raymi festival, which worships the Sun
God is re-enacted on June 24 of each year, during
the winter solstice. Your tour will start at the
Coricancha, where the Inca King and his Imperial
entourage salutes the Sun, before heading to
Sacsayhumamn (this includes a snack) where the
ritual will be re-enacted, including the simulated
sacrifice of a Illama amidst a mise-en-scene . This
includes the participation of hundreds of Cusco
residents who wear ancient traditional dress and
accessories manufactured for the re-enactment of
the ritual. (B, L)
Day 12: Cusco
Today is at leisure to explore the city or relax at
your hotel. (B)
Day 6: Colca - Arequipa - Puno
Day 13: Cusco
Today you will head to Puno via Lugunillas or
Cabanillas for lunch. In the afternoon you will
travel through the Andean plateau, with its
petrified forest and sky-blue lakes populated
by white flamingos. You will then head to
Puno for your two night stay. (B,L)
Today you will farewell Gisel and your guides as
you head to the airport for your onward flight. (B)

Superior
This morning you will be taken on a tour to
see the floating islands of the Uros. The Uros
are an ancestral society that inhabits a series
of artificial islands built with totora, a reed that
grows in the lake. You will then head to Taquile
Island, that used to be part of the Inca Empire.
