The job
The main purpose of the job is to carry out research and teaching at KIM University in its
undergraduate and post graduate programs.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. To teach at undergraduate and post graduate levels in areas of specialization as
allocated by the University Management.
2. To carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line
with personal objectives agreed in the Staff review process.
3. To engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities.
4. To supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate and post students.
5. To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality
curriculum.
6. To assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and
maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
7. To participate in departmental and faculty seminars aimed at sharing research
outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the
department.
8. To participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other
assessments.
9. To provide pastoral care and support to students.
10.To participate in the administration of the department’s programmes of study and
other activities as requested.
11.To contribute to departmental, faculty, or university-wide working groups or
committees as requested.
12.To maintain own continuing professional development.
Requirements
The ideal candidates should be;
 Holders of Bachelor’s degree in business management, law, economics, mathematics,
statistics, computer science, procurement and logistics, information management
systems, library services and other related disciplines
 Holders of Masters degree in the above disciplines from recognized universities ;
 Have professional qualifications in accountancy, procurement, banking, insurance,
computer science Human Resource Management and in other related disciplines.
 Having a PHD in the above or other related disciplines shall be an added advantage
 Have at least 3 years experience of teaching in a higher learning institution;
 Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
 Commitment to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment
for students
