Homeward 2020 At A Glance

Homeward 2020
Every night there are people in Fort Collins
without a place to sleep. They are our neighbors,
our relatives, our veterans and our youth. They deserve
better and we, working together, can do more.
Homeward 2020 is a community-driven 10-year
initiative to make homelessness rare, short-lived
and non-recurring in Fort Collins.
Fort Collins’ Ten Year Plan outlines our collective effort and
key strategies to build a local system to address homelessness in
Fort Collins.
The only lasting solution to homelessness is permanent housing. Our efforts are based on a Housing First
model. It’s a simple approach to ending homelessness: provide housing, and then offer supportive community
services to help people achieve their personal goals.
Our vision is local, our purpose clear, our work is to align local service providers, government entities, business
leadership, faith communities, civic groups, and community effort with best practices and measurable solutions.

It’s easy to grow accustomed to vulnerable people living on our
streets, especially if we believe there’s nothing we personally can
do about it. The truth, of course, is that we are the only ones who
can do something about it.
