Development of Key Performance Indicators and Clinical Dashboards Adam Iona, MSIS-‐SILS UNC 2013, Health informatics CertiFicate UNC 2014 Tracking health care data is a necessary step in improving public health outcomes, and with the vast amount of data available, it is imperative that we keep Finding new tools to manage and analyze this data to support public health. Goals of Project Collaborate with Patagonia Health and NC Institute of Public Health (NCIPH) to: •Track outcomes of local health departments throughout North Carolina and show a snapshot based on a list of performance indicators •Collect data to drive decision-‐making about policies •Assess to what extent public health departments are meeting national meaningful use standards Current Features of Dashboard •Charts and graphs showing data collected for each indicator •Tab dividers to organize the different kinds of data collected O Clinical outcomes O Financial Data O Meaningful Use Screenshot of Meaningful Use Tab Example Use Cases •Which types of patients are likely to schedule an appointment that results in a no-‐show? •How long is the average wait time for a particular type of appointment?
