On Saturday, November 9, 2013, the Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club will hold its
Annual Gathering at The Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill. This exciting event celebrates the
outdoors and the people who love it. We’re hoping you’ll be part of it by advertising in our Annual Gathering
program, sponsoring a display table at the event, or donating a product or service for the silent auction.
The day-long Annual Gathering is an opportunity for AMC members and friends to get together, conduct
chapter business, learn new skills, and discover new activities. The event typically draws an audience of more
than 150 outdoor-loving enthusiasts. Attendees come from across Connecticut and represent a variety of
outdoor interests. We’re expecting a record turnout this year, with a silent auction, workshops, and
demonstrations offered by members of our various committees – hiking, cycling, mountaineering, kayaking
(flat and whitewater).
But the Annual Gathering is more than just a social event. The Connecticut Chapter of the AMC will also hold
its annual business meeting, and honor volunteers who donated hundreds of hours to AMC projects over the
past year. The evening will be capped by a dinner and presentation "It's Not About the Hike" by Nancy
Sporborg and Pat Piper, who have climbed the 100 highest mountains in New England.
We are offering event sponsorship at several levels. As a sponsor, you will be provided with an ad in the
Annual Gathering program, a table on which to display your products/services or literature or talk to
attendees about your organization and its mission, and a link to your organization on the Annual Gathering
page of our chapter’s Web site. The prices are as follows:
1. Platinum
2. Gold
3. Silver
$500 - full page ad, Web site link, optional display table
$250 - half page ad, Web site link, optional display table
$150 - quarter page ad, Web site link, optional display table
A special Business Card rate is available at $25 for an ⅛ page ad. Display tables are free of charge for nonprofit organizations.
