Read Soo Young’s letter of application. Find four
sentences which contain information which is
unimportant to the job application. Draw a line
through them.
Hi George!
I saw your ad in the newspaper Sat, so I’m
writing to you about the job. I really want to
apply for one of the trainee bank clerk positions.
My Dad used to work in a bank and he liked it
a lot.
I speak a little Spanish, fluent Korean, and did
a great job on my IELTS test. I’m finishing my
degree in International Business and Finance
soon. I’m so happy about that because I’m really
tired of studying and being a poor student.

travelling. Read the advertisement. Do you think he
should apply?

live with my parents and two brothers, but I hope
to get married soon and live with my wife.
Please write back soon. I’m very impatient and
don’t like waiting a long time for letters.
