D-14582-2009 Accessories that actively cooperate DRÄGER INFINITY ® ID-ACCESSORIES 2| DRÄGER INFINITY® ID-ACCESSORIES Just a D-14131-2009 dream? |3 Move the patient from induction into the OR – without having to reenter ventilation parameters at the anesthesia workstation. Change the water trap on schedule – without having to check stickers or logbooks. Connect ventilation circuits and breathing bag – without losing control of making a proper connection. With Infinity® ID-accessories from Dräger it simply is routine. 4| DRÄGER INFINITY® ID-ACCESSORIES Make your connection – and breathe easier Connecting breathing circuits, changing water traps and replacing soda lime are some of the many tasks required on a daily basis within an intensive care unit or operating room. Even simple, routine tasks consume valuable time and require constant attention, with every single task just as important as the next. How easy is it to make an incorrect circuit connection? How easy is it to forget to change a water trap? What if the soda lime canister is not properly connected to the anesthetic machine? These mistakes can and do happen, and the consequences can be serious. WHY NOT ENLIST SOME ACTIVE SUPPORT Infinity ID-accessories from Dräger do more than just fulfill their primary function such as ventilating a patient or measuring parameter values. Each and every Infinity ID-accessory has been designed to offer additional functionality, which – that has been demonstrated by the daily clinical routine at Zurich‘s University Hospital – can help you simplify routine tasks, streamline workflow and increase safety levels. This enables you to concentrate on the most important thing – your patients. D-14600-2009 FOR YOUR DAILY ROUTINE TASKS? D-10204-2011 |5 Zurich University Hospital INFINITY ® ID-ACCESSORIES AND THE DAILY CLINICAL ROUTINE AT ZURICH’S UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Infinity ID-accessories from Dräger have been in use at the University Hospital in Zurich since 2009. Following a successful test phase in the ENT and ophthalmology departments, doctors and caregivers have been working with ID-accessories throughout the hospital’s surgical unit. The following Infinity ID-accessories are in use on a daily basis: – various Infinity ID breathing circuits – the Infinity ID WaterLock 2 water trap – the soda lime system Infinity ID CLIC Absorber Free ON THE ROAD TO STANDARDIZATION WITH INFINITY ® ID Personnel at the University Hospital routinely rotate through different department operating rooms during the day. To ensure the same high standard of care in all areas, hospital management decided to standardize OR workplaces. One milestone toward standardization was Dräger Infinity ID. Doctors and caregivers alike needed little convincing, and everyone involved reported that learning to use Dräger Infinity ID-accessories on their Infinity Empowered devices was easy and highly intuitive. The Primus stores ventilation settings and alarm limits continuously on an RFID chip inside the Infinity ID breathing circuit – from the first second on. – Ready to transfer to the operating room? Simply remove the breathing circuit from the Primus IE and move your patient with the circuit into the OR. – Once you’re there, connect the Infinity ID breathing circuit directly with the Primus IE. The parameters stored on the chip are automatically displayed; all you have to do is confirm and ventilation continues using the same settings. D-14185-2009 Transport your patient while the circuit transports the ventilation settings – from one device to the next. CALCULATION OF REMAINING CO 2 D-21994-2009 D-14190-2009 – When you connect the circuit to an Evita Infinity V500 ventilator, all settings are transferred automatically – no need for separate input of the ventilation settings. ABSORBING CAPACITY Something you can count on: With the help of the absorber, the system automatically calculates the remaining capacity of the soda lime. D-14586-2009 D-14546-2009 D-12634-2009 – How much soda lime has already been used? Thanks to the Infinity ID CLIC Absorber by Dräger, you won’t ever have to guess again. – As soon as ventilation begins, the Primus IE simultaneously begins to calculate the remaining CO2 absorption capacity. – You can see the results on the self-test page of the Primus user interface. MT-0819-2008 D-14168-2009 D-12369-2009 D-14537-2009 – If 80 % of the soda lime has been used, the system will inform you, giving you time to prepare to replace it. INFINITY ID-ACCESSORIES – QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS What exactly are ID-accessories? Infinity ID-accessories are based on RFID technology, which is short for Radio Frequency Identification. You may have seen RFID technology used in retail stores. If someone tries to remove an article from a store without paying for it, an alarm will sound at the exit thanks to RFID. With Infinity ID, Dräger has pioneered the use of this technology for clinical use in intensive care units and operating rooms. Quite simply: RFID makes a wireless connection between the accessory and the device. When you connect an Infinity ID-accessory to an Infinity IDdevice from Dräger, the accessory and the device exchange data. This data is transformed by the device software into useful additional functionality for your daily clinical routine. Can the radio waves cause harm to myself or my patients? No, the transmitter power is extremely low. The stored data needs to be transferred only a few centimeters between the accessory and the device. Infinity ID conforms to all current standards for medical products as well as for radio devices. Accessory Device Can the data on the radio chip get lost? No, the stored data is always duplicated, which rules out the possibility of losing the data. Does the chip store patient data? D-30226-2011 Display User Yes, but only therapy-relevant data, such as age, weight and size. Names or other personal data are not stored. |9 An Infinity ® ID-accessories MT-2086-2007 MT-2099-2007 overview Infinity® ID Flow sensor D-42848-2012 MT-2005-2008 Infinity® ID Breathing circuit Infinity® ID CLIC Absorber Free D-19383-2009 D-10105-2009 Infinity® ID WaterLock® 2 Infinity® ID Expiration valve Infinity® ID Breathing bag set 10 | DRÄGER INFINITY® ID-ACCESSORIES Infinity ® for Primus® IE, Evita® Infinity ® V500 Infinity® ID Breathing Circuit Basic (P) 180 Infinity® ID Breathing Circuit Watertrap (P) 180 Breathing bag sets for children Infinity® ID Breathing Bag Set (P) 110 Breathing circuits for neonates Infinity® ID Breathing Circuit Basic (N) 180 Infinity® ID Breathing Circuit Watertrap (N) 180 Infinity® ID Breathing Circuit Heated (N) Breathing bag sets for neonates Infinity® ID Breathing Bag Set (N) 110 Soda lime container Infinity® ID CLIC Absorber 800+ Infinity® ID CLIC Absorber Free Water trap Infinity® ID WaterLock 2* Flow sensor Infinity® ID Flow sensor Expiration valve Infinity® ID Expiration valve (disposable) * Fixed exchange interval of 28 days. ** This function is supported only by the Evita® Infinity® V500. *** This function is not supported by the Perseus® A500 and Babylog® VN500.
