There had been issues last year with litter and with trees being used as
goalposts and consequently being damaged. Security / Warden patrols had
been increased and the situation has consequently improved
Many comments were received last year on how much better the garden was
looking. The pruning has made a big difference and the railings have helped the
lawn. There is a planned programme of works for the lawns that will be starting

There are two events planned so far for this year, a Children’s Party and a
Summer BBQ. The Children’s Party will be aiming for 300 attendees this year
(an increase of 100 from last year) and Grosvenor will be providing some
sponsorship. The invites for the Summer BBQ and the Children’s Party have
already been sent out. Any ideas for sponsorship or raffle donations are
welcome
Grosvenor has been very supportive of the garden events
The aim is to raise the profile of the garden and events, such as the BBQ, which
help the garden “community” get to know each other better will help this, as well
as events such as the annual Open Day. Any extra monies raised from the
events will be spent on the garden
The membership prices will be kept the same as last year
On the first Tuesday of each month there will be a garden walkabout at 9.30am
for committee members and any garden member who wishes to attend.
Information and reminders about these will be put up on the garden
noticeboards

of its history
A lot of pruning has been carried out and, following an arboricultural review,
weak/poor trees have been removed
Replanting of the garden is planned, and a visit from a rose specialist has been
arranged, to advise on appropriate species for the garden
There are currently two apprentices working in the garden: Dean (who has been
nominated for Apprentice of the Year) and Phil. Both are doing extremely well
and achieving distinctions in their college work

Resignation and Election of the Committee
NAH thanked the Committee for all their hard work and thanked GD and the MOD
for the use of the meeting rooms at 37 Belgrave Square.
The committee stood down en masse and NAH asked for the meeting to vote on the
block election of the Committee, with the exception of Mrs Lister and Lady Cleaver
who are standing down this year.
NAH commented that Lady Cleaver had been a member of the committee since at
least 1992, providing stalwart support. Lady Cleaver was presented with a bouquet
from the committee, and she gave a gracious speech about her time on the
committee and how pleased she felt to have been part of it for so long,
Mrs Kaloghirou proposed the election of the members and the meeting accepted.
The committee members are therefore: Mrs Bond Elliott, Mr Fage, Mrs Kennedy, Mr
Le Bihan Daubigney, Mr Doyle, Mr Paraskevas, Ms Regnier-Leigh, Mrs Kivel, Mrs
