Dear Homeschooling Parent(s):
Welcome to homeschooling for the 2016-2017 school year. We hope that homeschooling will be a very
rewarding experience for you and your children.
This package includes a Student Notification Form that must be completed annually for each student and
submitted by September 1st or 30 days after establishing your homeschool.
There are four steps in the process to homeschool in Manitoba:
STEP 1: Notifying
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) complete and submit a Student Notification Form (see
page following) for EACH school-age child every year they are homeschooled.

FN Education Director or INAC at 204-983-5989.
STEP 2: Processing
Manitoba Education and Training processes the Student Notification Form(s).
• Homeschooling liaisons may contact parent(s) to clarify information.
• A Student Notification Form for any student who has been previously
enrolled cannot be processed until the June Report from the previous year has
been received.
STEP 3: Enrolling
Manitoba Education and Training mails a confirmation of enrolment letter to
parent(s) after Student Notification forms are processed.
STEP 4: Reporting
Parent(s) complete, sign and submit a January and June Progress Report for
each student.
To assist you in completing the forms, sample comments for Progress Reports
are included in this package. You may find these helpful in reporting your
student’s progress.
If you have any questions about any of the process, please contact the Homeschooling Office.
Notification Packages are also available online at http://edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/schools/ind/homeschool/notification.html
