This week students will work to finish inequalities and continue to
review previously learned topics. They will work on the Unit 1
Project which is due on Thursday. We will also start exponents on
Thursday.
Next week, the Formative Assessment #3 is on Thursday. The Unit 1
Assessment is the following Monday. I just want to give everyone a
heads up on what’s coming.

Directions for Students Activating
an Edline Account

Edline screen names and passwords used at
Hoover are the same for returning 7th and 8th
graders. If you are new to Hoover, you will receive
your log-in information upon your arrival.
• If you forgot your screen name and/or password,
have your teacher record your name to the Edline
SuperUser, Mrs. P. Halperin.
If you are new to Hoover, please follow the steps below to
activate your account.
1. Go to https://www.edline.net/AccessCodeEntry.page
2. Type in the activation code provided to you.
3. When you see a screen that identifies you click "Activate this Code."
4. Terms of Use Policy appears. Review it and click "I Agree."
5. Click "New Account."
6. Type in a screen name and a password. Choose something you'll easily
remember, perhaps the same screen name and password for your existing
email account at home. (No spaces or dashes)
7. Click "Continue." (If a message appears “already existing”, try another
screen name)
8. Type in your email address and choose your preferences for receiving
email. If you do not have an email account, select “No” for both questions.
9. Click on the down arrow in the Security question box, choose a question,
and type in the answer.
10. Click "Update."
11. Click "Done" in the upper right hand corner of the Edline screen. You'll
now see your Edline home page with your name and classes. Select the
class and click “Current Assignment Report” in the upper right hand corner.
Directions for Parents Activating
an Edline Account
Special Note to Parents - Edline screen names and
passwords used at Hoover MS are the same as last
year for returning students and parents. If you are
new to Hoover, you will receive a letter by mail the
first week of school with Edline activation codes.
If you have any questions, please send email to

activation code.

Go to https://www.edline.net/AccessCodeEntry.page.
Type in the activation code provided for you. If you have more than one
parent code because you have more than one child at the school, enter each
parent code, one after the other. After typing in each code, click "Enter".
3. When you see a screen that identifies you as your child's parent with the
words “Hoover Middle School" following it, Click "Activate this Code."
4. Terms of Use Policy appear. Review it and click "I Agree."
5. On the next screen, click "New Account." Type a screen name and a
password. Choose something you'll easily remember, perhaps the same
screen name and password for your existing email account. Click
"Continue/”Update."
6. Type your email address and choose your preferences for receiving email.
7. Click on the down arrow in the Security question box, choose a topic, and
type in the answer. Click "Update."
8. This step is optional. If you wish to do so, click to print the "Student/Parent
Quick-Start Guide" to learn the simple procedures for using Edline. After
printing this PDF document, close Acrobat Reader or click your browser’s
back arrow to return to Edline.
9. Click "Done"/”Update”. You'll now see your Edline home page with your
child's name, or your children’s names, linked to it. Click on your child's
name to see his or her schedule.
10. Click on Private Reports to see grades posted for your child.
