2008 PRETORIA CITY OF
TSHWANE 24-28 September. The
loss of codes venues and offices as
used in previous games at the
University of Pretoria, resulted in the
cancellation of a number of
participating codes. The financial
support and available venues supplied
by the Tshwane Metro Council
contributed to an eventual & most
successful GAMES with many entries
in 19 participating codes. Best ever
number of entries from our
neighbouring states in the various
team sports.
2011 CITY OF PORT ELIZABETH 27
April-2 May. The success and
enjoyment of the 2011 Games,
Despite challenges, can be
contributed to the dedication &
perseverance of all role players
involved, including the Manager &
staff of the sports office, all code coordinators and every master
participant. The Games suffered an
unexpected drawback when in
February 2011, the President of
SAMSA was informed in writing by the
Executive Director, Recreation &
Economical Development that all
Council funds & indoor venues
allocated to Sport, including SAMSA
GAMES, was withdrawn.

WORLD MASTER GAMES - TORINO ITALY 2-11 August 2013
http://www.torino2013wmg.org/
GAMES FUNDAMENTAL IDEAS:
•
A multi-national and multi-sport event for mature sportsmen and women.
•
Open to all competitors-past champions, people who have never competed at championship level, or just sportsmen and
women in general.
•
The only criterium for participation is the minimum age requirement of an athlete as determined by the individual sports code.
Most sports are arranged in age categories. As a guideline, the minimum age is 30 years. However this depends on each
sport’s international rulings and a decision by the host city organising committee and the IMGA Board of Governors.
•
There are no national teams, groups or official national representatives.
•
All participants represent themselves only and bear all expenses on an individual basis.
•
Participants from several different countries may unite to form multi-national teams.
•
All participants shall compete in the outfit and the clothes normally used in their particular sport, and shall not necessarily
appear in official national team clothing.
•
Participation does not require any qualification competitions or selection criteria.
•
Athletes shall abide by the completion rules of the international sports federations.
