Order of
Operations
What is the
order of
operations?
Order of operations is the order the order an equation
must be solved in to get the
correct answer. The Order
goes as follows:
Parenthesis– any operations
within parenthesis must be
done first
Exponents– these must be
found second
Multiplication– any multiplication that needs to be done
should be done third or fourth.
Division– Division should also
be done third or fourth. Multiplication and Division are interchangeable.
Addition– Any addition
should be done after multiplication and division.
Subtraction– subtraction
should be done right before or
after addition.
