Elmwood Stock Farm Elmwood Stock Farm is a USDA Certified Organic farm located just north of Lexington in Scott County. The farm has offered a CSA program for 13 years and all items in their shares are grown at Elmwood. In addition to vegetables, they offer Grass-Fed Beef along with Pastured Chicken and Egg Shares - all Certified Organic. Season: Summer Season 22 weeks (May through September); Fall Season distributions every 2 weeks (October - December); Winter Season distributions every 2 weeks (January - March) 1 Share options: Mini Share ($20 per week/ $440 season total) is designed to feed single adults or couples who eat out often. FoodChain FoodChain is a non-profit, indoor aquaponics farm, located right next door to West Sixth Brewery, in the Bread Box. As an educational nonprofit, part of our mission is to demonstrate economic viability for innovative urban farms, as well as provide unique programming on food production and accessibility to diverse groups throughout the region. Each share will be enough for 4 servings of fresh salad to end the winter with a burst of fresh greens, chock full of vitamins and minerals! Greenhouse 17 We are an advocacy agency for survivors of domestic violence and we believe that nature, beauty, movement, and the creative process are important healing tools for survivors of trauma. We hire women living in our emergency shelter to work on our onsite farm, growing chemical free produce for our emergency shelter along with seasonal herbs and cut flowers to share with our community. Each is delivered to your doorstep. Season: Vegetable CSA - 22 weeks. The shares are delivered to your door each week during summer. Egg CSA - all year long. One or two dozen eggs (or more) are delivered to you every two weeks. Meat CSA- all year long, delivered once a month, with sixth-month commitment. Howlin’ Wolf Farm Howlin Wolf Farm is a 30-acre produce and livestock farm located in Lexington, just minutes from downtown. We are a volunteer run operation that offers traditional vegetable and worker shares, providing an opportunity for local folks to get involved in growing their own food, and to have a little fun while they’re at it! We are also offering our traditional vegetable shares (in limited quantities, only 50 available this year) for folks who can’t afford the time to work out on the farm. Season: 20 Weeks Share Options: Worker shares are $200 and will begin mid-May. Workers are expected to volunteer 3 hours per week, and pickups will be from the farm. Rootbound Farm Ben Abell and Bree Pearsall run Rootbound Farm, a Certified Organic farm in Oldham County, KY. Our organic certification is very important to us and we prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and growing some amazingly beautiful and delicious food. Our CSA members receive a wide variety of items throughout the season, everything from arugula to zucchini! We are best known for our excellent quality organic lettuces, potatoes, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. In addition to the seasonal favorites, we also grow many specialty items including cauliflower, herbs, broccoli, and radicchio. We provide a weekly newsletter with lots of storage tips and recipe recommendations. Teal Tractor CSA Walnut Lawn Farm is a 6th generation family owned & operated farm located in Fayette County and serves as the home of Teal Tractor CSA. Our CSA members enjoy bountiful varieties of vegetables, fruits and herbs as they come into season. We are proud to partner with Weisenberger Mill and Clark Family Farm to offer mixes, eggs and chicken in addition to our shares. Season: begin in late May/early June and run through October for 20 weeks. Share Options: We have produce, egg and chicken shares available. Full and Half Produce Shares are available between $25/week and $15/week. The chicken and egg shares are priced separately as an addon to either share option. Triple J Farm We are a multigenerational farm in Scott County. This will be our 8th year with our CSA program, but we have been selling direct to customers for 14 years at local markets. Our goal is to provide a variety of fresh, quality produce throughout the season to our customers, for them to enjoy with family and friends as they make their shares into delicious meals. In addition to the produce shares, we offer egg shares from our free range hens. Season: our season is 18 weeks, starting mid to late May weather depending and going through mid-late September. Share options: We offer 2 Share sizes. Our Half Share (most popular) feeds 2-4 and cost $315.00 for the season. Our Full share feeds 4-6 and cost $590.00 for the season. Egg shares are additional, we offer ½ dozen eggs each week costing $40.00 for the season or 1 dozen eggs for $70.00 for the season. Pickup/ Drop-Off Locations: We offer pick-ups at any Farmer’s markets that we attend. We do deliver too many Lexington businesses and some neighborhoods that have a host house.
