Don’t wear revealing
tops, and make sure
undergarments are hidden.
And no flip-flops!
Dress appropriately for an academic program: wear walking shorts, jeans and pants, t-shirts,
blouse or knit shirt, comfortable shoes (tennis shoes, etc.), sandals, and skirts. Required clothing includes
business attire for poster presentation day and formal closing ceremony.
UNACCEPTABLE CLOTHING: boxers worn as shorts, pajamas, clothing with profanity or advertisements
for alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products, excessively baggy pants; low cut, backless or revealing and tube
tops; short-shorts or miniskirts. Some yoga pants may be unacceptable.
FOOTWEAR: Note that UCI has a variety of hardscape and landscape that may cause injury when walking
around campus. NO FLIP-FLOPS may be worn to/from class or lab or areas beyond the residential housing
quad due to safety hazards.
Chemistry and enginering labs as well as biology labs require long pants and close-toed shoes. If you are
not dressed appropriately for the classroom or laboratory, you will be asked to change.
I understand that my participation in COSMOS may terminate for failure to abide by the stated program
expectations and policies.
