Proposed Action
All seating benches, with the exception of B5 (all-steel construction) are in various stages of decay. B6
has completely been removed apart from the remnants of the stumps in the ground. Bench B5 will
remain, but all the rest need to be removed and replaced with new seating benches (made from
recycled plastic) together with the new wooden bench being supplied by the Rotary Club. All new
benches will be mounted on concrete plinths.
As far as picnic benches go, PB4 and PB5 should be removed along with PB2 which is poorly
constructed and falling apart (Health & Safety issue). PB1 and PB3 are serviceable, though would
benefit from wood preservative treatment/staining. I propose that PB1 and PB3 should be retained and
along with 5 new, recycled material benches and the new picnic bench being supplied by the Rotary
Club, they should be mounted on concrete plinths.
