Catholic School Closures
And Mergers in the
Phila. Archdiocese
To deal with a drop of enrollment of more than
30 percent in the last 10 years, the Archdiocese
of Philadelphia on Friday announced plans to
close four of its 17 high schools and 45 of its
156 elementary schools in June.
About 21,000 elementary-school students will be
affected by the changes.
