Geometry Bonus Points! Looking for some bonus points for Math? Join the Geometry Scavenger Hunt! Currently in math we are learning about geometry in math. There is a lot of vocabulary to memorize. To take part in the Scavenger Hunt take a look at our vocabulary words below. Find an example of those vocabulary words in the world around you and take a picture of it. Send those pictures to Mr. Wright and get a 2 bonus points for each picture with a label, up to fifteen pictures/labels. There are many ways to send those pictures to Mr. Wright. Please see below for ways to get the pictures to Mr. Wright. We have not discussed all of these words yet so you can use the geometry book. As a result, the pictures are due April 13. So what are you waiting for? Have all your pictures in a folder on your computer. Mr. Wright suggests that the file name of each of your pictures be your student’s initials and then an underscore ( _ ) and then the name of the term pictured. For example, if Billy Bo Bob took a picture of a hexagon, the file name would be BBB_hexagon.jpg or if the picture is of a right triangle: BBB_righttriangle.jpg Now log into My Big Campus (http://www.mybigcampus.com). Click the Profile link of the left side of the page. Then click the Photos link under your student’s name. Miss Walker’s class does not have My Big Campus Accounts. Next, click the Click here to upload files link near the top of the page. Go to where you have your photos saved and select all of them. Click the Open button. The computer will begin uploading all of your picture files to My Big Campus. Drop Mr. Wright an e-mail ([email protected]) to let him know that you have your pictures on My Big Campus. You’re done! Option 2: Flickr If you have a free Flickr (http://www.flickr.com) account, have all your pictures in a folder on your computer. Mr. Wright suggests that the file name of each of your pictures be your student’s initials and then an underscore ( _ ) and then the name of the term pictured. For example, if Billy Bo Bob took a picture of a hexagon, the file name would be BBB_hexagon.jpg or if the picture is of a right triangle: BBB_righttriangle.jpg Upload those pictures to your Flickr account and tag each photo with wright_geo_hunt (each photo must have that tag) When all of the pictures have uploaded to Flickr, drop Mr. Wright an e-mail ([email protected]) to let him know that you have your pictures on Flickr. You’re done! Option 3: CD Have all your pictures in a folder on your computer. Mr. Wright suggests that the file name of each of your pictures be your student’s initials and then an underscore ( _ ) and then the name of the term pictured. For example, if Billy Bo Bob took a picture of a hexagon, the file name would be BBB_hexagon.jpg or if the picture is of a right triangle: BBB_righttriangle.jpg Next, burn your images on a CD. Bring the CD to school. You’re done! Option 4: E-mail Have all your pictures in a folder on your computer. Mr. Wright suggests that the file name of each of your pictures be your student’s initials and then an underscore ( _ ) and then the name of the term pictured. For example, if Billy Bo Bob took a picture of a hexagon, the file name would be BBB_hexagon.jpg or if the picture is of a right triangle BBB_righttriangle.jpg E-mail the photos (3 to 5 images per e-mail) to [email protected] You’re done!
