Kid Zone News
Starting May 1st, we will be closing at 8pm Monday through Thursday.
After looking at member utilization numbers it made sense. Very rarely are
children in the Kid Zone after 8pm.
We have two Saturday and one Sunday opening. Kelli Terry, Kid Zone
Manager, is currently excepting applications and resumes. If you know
someone who might be interested send them her way!
We will be open Memorial Day, May 29th for the morning shift only, 8am1pm.

Just a few of the HSAC 60-Day
Challenge for Change participants!
Starting in May, we will be having the
White Knuckle Foods join the juice bar
food!! Fresh salads, sandwiches, and
wraps! Come try them!! We will be
carrying all of their healthy options!

Ladies’ Day: Next session starts
May 31st running for 6 weeks.
The Ladies’ Day is a required sign
up program due to limited spots.
If you did not make one of the 12
spots on the list, we also have a
sub list that we encourage you
to sign up on. Contact the Tennis
Desk to sign up or for more info.
Note: This will be the last Ladies’
Day session until next Fall due to
Adult Summer Camp programs.
Senior Men’s Daytime Doubles:
Wednesday’s at 2:00pm courts 1,
2, and 3 are taken over by this fun,
loving group. If you are a male 60
years and over of age and would
like to sign up, please contact Lou
Wick at the tennis center, sign-ups
are limited.
USTA News: Congratulations
to the 2017 40 and over playoff
winners! Current Leagues: 2017
Adult 18 and 65+ Daytime League,
and the 2017 Adult 18+ Weekend

To view the Current 2017 Adult
Group Class Schedule please visit
the Harbor Square Athletic Club
website at www.harborsquare.
com. Once you have the web page
open look in the upper right hand
corner and click on “Schedules &
Reservations”. You will get a drop
down menu and second to the
last option is “Tennis Schedule”
click on this. This will bring up the
current schedule that we will have
running until summer schedule
starts (this changes once summer
camps start). Check the website
every now and then for possible
added classes. Check with tennis
desk for any class cancelations.
Men’s Night: Men’s Night Program
is currently running Thursday’s
at 6:30pm until the end of June.
No sign up required, just show up
ready to play. This event provides
a great opportunity to face a
wide variety of competition. Be
prepared for a night of tennis
and fun with friends. During the
summer months men’s night takes
a break and returns back in the
fall. If you have any questions

Tennis Bubble Cleaning:
On Monday, May 22nd and
Saturday, May 27th the tennis
bubble will be cleaned. The
cleaning will involve pressure
washing which will be a very
loud process. So, if you make
reservations during this time,
please be aware of the possibility
of loud noise during tennis play in
the bubble. Also, parking during
this time will be limited. Thank you
for your understanding during the
cleaning.
ACE Court Reservation Program
has New Ownership: ACE, our
tennis court reservation program,
is currently in the process of
transitioning to new ownership.
During this transition period we
thank you for your continued
patience with any website issues
you may have experienced. Once
ACE is fully transferred into
new ownership, we should not
experience any of these problems
any more.

Mixed Tennis Social: May Tennis
Social is “French Open Theme”
Bonjour! Join us on Friday, May
19th at 7:00pm. We encourage
you to come dressed up for the
theme in your French attire. The
cost will be $10 per person.
Included in the cost will be 2 drink
tickets per person. Please bring
a hors d’oeuvre (possibly French
themed) to share and if you have
a preferred drink of choice. Merci

Welcome New Pro Eric Drew:
Eric is a native to the Pacific
Northwest. He is
currently a resident
of Whidbey Island.
Growing up playing
tennis Eric was
ranked #1 in the
Pacific Northwest
18 and under. He
was in the top ten
nationally ranked
junior 18 and under.
Eric then went on to
be a member of the USTA national
team. From there he was an All
American in Singles and Doubles
at The University of Washington
with Robert Kendrick (former ATP
professional). Eric then went on
to reach the semi-finals of NCAA
singles tournament in 1999. He
also competed professionally in
Satellite, Futures and Challenger
tournaments throughout the
United States. After playing
professionally Eric traveled with
world #1 Martina Hingis for two
years as a hitting coach. He was
also a sports commentator for
New York Hamptons (World Team
Tennis) for one summer.
Eric is a Certified PTR professional
and current volunteer men’s
assistant coach with the UW
Husky men’s tennis team under
long time head coach Matt Anger.
In his free time Eric enjoys fly
fishing, salmon fishing, crabbing,
and anything having to do with
being outdoors. Eric enjoys
spending time on Whidbey Island
near his parents and is very
excited to be a member of the
HSAC team and looks forward to
working with Juniors and Adults
of all levels. If you haven’t meet
