TN State Code Entry and Maintenance All TN state codes are stored under System Preferences | Setup along with any non-state-specific codes used for other reporting purposes. Blocks Blocks are used for state reporting in Tennessee. They are used within scheduling to determine the model that is attached to the calendar day for the school. See the InformationNOW – Scheduling Quick Reference Guide for more details. Academic Session Type (District Wide setting) Name Block Code B State Code BLOCK Absence Level Absence Levels are predefined as Tardy, Half Day/Period, Half Day/Period Other, All Day/Period, and All Day/Period Other and may not be edited. However, the absence reasons assigned to each level are not predefined and may be edited by the school/district. Absence Reason Absence reasons are used on attendance transactions for students. Additional codes can be defined but only those with the state codes as outlined below will be used in state reporting. Multiple codes can be associated with the same state code. For example, users may add reason codes of Doctor Appt and Funeral and both may be assigned a state code of A indicating that they are considered excused for state reporting purposes.
